The Role
Manage production assembly for heavy-duty excavators and wheel loaders across retrofit and new-build workflows. Oversee electro-mechanical integration of motors, batteries, wiring, hydraulics, and cooling systems. Lead kit management, BOM accuracy, testing, safety, daily production planning, OEE improvement, bottleneck removal, and root-cause analysis. Drive quality, throughput, cost reduction, and profitable operations while leading teams on the manufacturing floor.
Summary Generated by Built In
1. Production Scalability: Manage the assembly flow for 22MT Excavators and Wheel
Loaders, optimizing for both Retrofit (teardown/rebuild) and Greenfield (new build)
workflows.
2. Electro-Mechanical Integration: Oversee the critical marriage of PMSM motors, battery
packs, and HV wiring harnesses with traditional mechanical chassis and hydraulic
systems. Ensure cooling systems integration to ensure thermal management of critical
components.
3. CKD/SKD Management: Lead the technical intake and assembly of imported and
domestic kits, ensuring 100% bill-of-materials (BOM) accuracy.
4. Quality & Precision: Implement rigorous testing protocols for "Zero-Leak" hydraulics
and "Zero-Fault" electrical insulation.
5. Throughput Optimization: Own the Daily Production Plan (DPP). Drive OEE (Overall
Equipment Effectiveness) by identifying bottlenecks in structural welding or final
calibration.
6. Safety Leadership: Enforce safety protocols.
7. Problem Solving: Strong problem solving abilities with expertise in root cause analysis
(e.g. 5 Whys, FMEA) and results oriented mindset towards production target, cost
reduction, integration accuracy.
Requirements
1. B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
2. 10-12 years of experience in heavy machinery (CE/Automotive/Commercial Vehicles).
3. Direct Floor Experience: Must have climbed the ranks from an Engineer to Senior
Supervisor/Manager level on a heavy-duty assembly line.
4. Expertise: Deep understanding of heavy-duty welding, structural alignment, and torqueing
standards.
5. Tooling & Lean: Mastery of Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, 5S) and Root Cause Analysis (FMEA,
8D) to minimize rework on expensive EV components.
6. Commercial Acumen: Profitable and efficient operations.
