The Assembly Shift Supervisor is responsible for executing and delivering QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) targets for the assigned assembly area in alignment with automotive standards, customer requirements, and company policies.
The role requires strong shopfloor leadership, technical capability, and operational ownership to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient production, while acting as a key interface between Production, Engineering, and Maintenance
Responsibilities
- Production Management & QCD Delivery
- Own and execute QCD targets for the designated assembly area through disciplined shift management.
- Run and control the automotive assembly lines (crimping, insertion, connector assembly, sub-assembly, final assembly).
- Ensure production plan adherence and on-time completion of shift targets.
- Drive improvement in: Productivity / throughput
- Machine efficiency (OEE)
- Labor efficiency
- Scrap and rework reduction
- Take immediate corrective actions for any deviation from targets.
- •Supervise, guide, and lead operators and technicians across shifts.
- •Ensure team consistently meets standard output, efficiency, and quality targets.
- •Conduct shift briefings, assign manpower, and manage line balancing.
- Quality Ownership & Process Control
- Take full ownership of product quality during the shift.
- •Ensure effective implementation of:
- Process control plans and work instructions
- First-off approval / start-up checks
- Monitor and reduce Internal defects
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Ensure 100% adherence to safety protocols: PPE (uniform / white jacket, safety shoes, safety lenses, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with 5S, housekeeping, and workplace organization standards.
- Immediately address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Apply predictive and preventive maintenance principles.
- Material & Consumable Management
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials on production lines.
- Manage consumables inventory at optimal/minimum levels.
- Prevent excess consumption and wastage.
- Coordinate with stores/logistics for timely material replenishment
