Senior Product Software Engineer

Position Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Software Developer with strong experience in Java Spring, Python and Angular to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain complex, high-performance web applications, provide technical mentoring to the team, and help drive best practices in coding, architecture, and software development processes.

Under direct supervision, assists in designing, developing, testing, debugging web application with robust backend and intuitive frontend components, software tools, and utilities required for the operation, maintenance, and control of computer systems. Assists in modifying existing software to fit specialized needs and configurations and maintains program libraries and technical documentation.

Education: 

• Bachelor’s in engineering degree or equivalent degree.

Broad expectations from this role are as follows:

• Hands on experience in technologies – Java Spring boot, Python (Fast API), Kafka message broker, SQL/No-SQL DBs (Postgres, DocumentDB), Python, Angular, Web App, Web APIs, and Cloud patterns, IaaC
• Hands-on experience in at least one cloud provider Azure or AWS and knowledge on at least one other cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Google, IBM)
• Knowledge in Terraform, Grafana, Helm charts
• Work with architects and leads to understand technical architecture, implementation approach and testing strategy for the given feature.
• Contribute to end-to-end delivery of the product features (complete SDLC)
• Knowledge of AI, Gen AI, Agentic AI and of Prompt Engineering. Hands-on experience with any AI-powered coding tool like GitHub Copilot etc.
• Be a part of committees in Pune in supporting local initiatives

Experience:

• 7+ years of professional experience in software.
• Hands-on experience on product development and software development methodologies

MUST HAVE:

• Hands-on development in technologies – Java Spring boot, Python (Fast API), Kafka message broker, SQL/No-SQL DBs (Postgres, DocumentDB), Angular, Web App, Web APIs, and Cloud patterns, IaC
• Hands-on in developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience of Non-SQL DBs (Postgres, DocumentDB etc.), and performance tuning.
• Strong in object-oriented design and development using software development best practices.
• Deep technical understanding of Microservices
• Deep understanding of SOLID design principles and patterns
• Strong hands-on experience building modern, responsive web applications using Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• Experience in code refactoring, quality improvement, and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of multi-threading, scalability, performance, and application security
• Good knowledge of non-SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Document DB.
• Experience working in a Scrum-based Agile environment within the SAFe framework
• Experience participating in product release cycle, including code reviews and defect triage.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Strong experience either Azure or AWS infrastructure and understanding of other cloud providers
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with multiple cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google, IBM, on-premises).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to multiple Agile development methodologies (scrum, kanban etc.)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures or microservices.
• Experience with software development best practices like test-driven development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Architects and Tech Lead to implement, refactor, and test –PaaS/SaaS cloud services for high availability, resiliency, scalability, security, and optimal performance to meet service level objectives.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions that meet business and architecture requirements.
• Guide and mentor junior developers by conducting code reviews, sharing best practices, and providing technical support.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, QA engineers to deliver high-quality features on time.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code, and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Relentlessly document your implementation, patterns, practices, and processes.
• Contribute to improving development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and overall team productivity.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas to the team.
