Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division delivers industry-leading metrology solutions essential to advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Its portfolio includes systems for measuring film thickness, critical dimensions, composition, and resistivity—key to developing and scaling next-gen IC processes. FaST partners closely with customers from early R&D through high-volume production, ensuring performance and process alignment.

Position Summary

The Senior Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the business success of one or more product lines within the FaST portfolio. The role drives product strategy, market positioning, lifecycle management, and customer adoption by working closely with Engineering, Applications, Manufacturing, Sales, and Field Marketing teams. The individual serves as the primary business owner for their assigned products and is accountable for identifying market opportunities, translating customer requirements into product strategy, and achieving revenue, market share, and profitability objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Ownership

  • Own product marketing for assigned products or technology areas.
  • Maintain MRD and URD documentation and drive prioritization of customer requirements.
  • Define product value proposition and competitive positioning.
  • Develop business cases for new features, products, and market opportunities.
  • Influence product roadmap decisions through market and customer insights.
  • Support long-range portfolio planning and product lifecycle management.

Business Management

  • Develop revenue, adoption, and market share growth plans for assigned products.
  • Analyze business performance, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
  • Support forecasting, pricing strategy, and product mix optimization.
  • Monitor ASP, gross margin, and business performance trends.
  • Identify actions necessary to achieve growth and profitability objectives.

Customer & Market Development

  • Partner with Field Marketing to define customer penetration and adoption strategies.
  • Engage directly with strategic customers to understand technology roadmaps and emerging requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Support major customer evaluations, beta programs, and early adoption initiatives.
  • Participate in executive, technical, and business reviews with key accounts.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute product strategy and commercialization plans.
  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Applications, Manufacturing, Service, and Sales organizations.
  • Drive alignment between product roadmap investments and customer requirements.
  • Resolve issues that may impact product adoption, customer satisfaction, or business objectives.

Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis

  • Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and industry developments.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen differentiation and improve competitive positioning.
  • Identify emerging markets, applications, and technology inflections that create business opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding investment priorities and growth opportunities.

Product Launch & Commercialization

  • Lead launch planning for new products and major releases.
  • Develop product messaging, positioning, and customer-facing collateral.
  • Support go-to-market activities in partnership with Field Marketing and Sales organizations.
  • Ensure readiness of customer support and field teams for successful product adoption.

Thought Leadership

  • Serve as the division subject matter expert for assigned products.
  • Present strategy, business updates, and customer insights to leadership teams.
  • Mentor junior marketing team members and contribute to organizational best practices.
  • Represent the division at customer meetings, conferences, and internal strategy reviews.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with metrology, inspection, or process-control products.
  • Knowledge of advanced Logic, DRAM, NAND, and Advanced Packaging manufacturing challenges.
  • Strong analytical and business planning skills.
  • Experience managing product introductions and customer adoption programs.
  • Proven presentation skills with customers and senior leadership.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • Experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, Applications Engineering, Process Engineering, or related customer-facing roles.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and process development and/or control technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority.

Total Rewards

Base Pay Range: $163,000.00 - $239,067.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
