What you'll do
- Own your product domain, end-to-end. Take full ownership of a meaningful problem space within Halter - from discovery through delivery, iteration and scale. This includes improving existing products, launching new capabilities, and helping Halter expand into new markets and use cases.
- Lead continuous discovery and delivery. Work as part of a tight product trio with engineering and design. We value pragmatism over prescription - you’ll choose the right tools and approaches for the problem, test assumptions, and learn quickly. You will always ask: “does this make the boat go faster, in the right direction?”
- Spend time with customers and internal experts, in their shoes. Engage directly with farmers, industry experts, and internal experts across product and go-to-market. Deeply understand customer needs, workflows and pain points. At Halter, the best insights typically come from the field, not a dashboard.
- Make high-quality product decisions. Set clear priorities, make trade-offs, and focus the team on the work that will deliver the greatest impact. You’ll balance short-term wins with long-term strategy in a fast-moving environment.
- Shape product strategy. Drive the direction of your product domain and how that fits into Halter’s broader product strategy. You’ll look ahead to where technology, customer needs and the industry are going - not just where they are today.
- Be a product advocate and storyteller. Clearly communicate the “why” behind what we’re building to engineers, designers, stakeholders and customers. You’ll help others understand the value of the product and how it contributes to Halter’s mission.
- Leverage AI and automation. The state of AI and automation changes by the day. Ignoring this means getting left behind. You will invest the time understanding how AI can be leveraged to increase the amount of work you get done, as well as the velocity of that work.
Who you are:
- An experienced Product Manager with proven impact. You’ve shipped products that matter and can point to outcomes, not just outputs. You care deeply about building things that solve real problems in the real world.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and complexity. You don’t need everything to be defined up-front. You’re confident navigating uncertainty, breaking down messy problems, testing ideas, and iterating toward better solutions.
- Highly curious and eager to learn. You enjoy becoming an expert in your domain and you’re motivated by understanding how things really work.
- Strong at prioritisation and focus. You can cut through noise, identify the signal, and make hard calls about what not to do. You understand that progress comes from focus, not feature volume.
- Comfortable leveraging AI and automation. You know your way around relevant AI tooling, and understand how to leverage it effectively in the work you do as a force multiplier.
- A clear and compelling communicator. You can articulate problems, decisions and trade-offs simply and effectively to a wide range of audiences - from engineers to farmers to executives.
- A collaborative partner. You work exceptionally well with engineers, designers and cross-functional stakeholders. You value different perspectives and believe great products come from strong teams.
- Resilient and hands-on. You’re not afraid to get uncomfortable, take unconventional paths and get your hands dirty (literally) to get results. You expect things to go wrong - and adapt quickly when they do.
- You have great product taste. You care about simplicity, usability and elegance. You sweat the details because you know they matter, especially for complex products used in demanding, real-world environments.
What sets Halter apart from most SaaS companies?
- Halter is real-world in every sense. Our product becomes a digital twin of land and animals. It guides animals, models land, and monitors behaviour in real time. Product decisions have immediate, physical consequences in the real world.
- We build for an extreme spectrum of users. Some of our customers are data-hungry and AI-fluent. For others, this may be the first technology - especially a mobile app - they’ve used to run their business. Crafting products that work beautifully across this spectrum is hard, and it’s critical to get right.
- We are exceptionally close to our customers. You will talk to farmers constantly. You’ll hear feedback early, often, and unfiltered - both good and bad. The best insights often come from being in the field, which usually means gumboots and standing almost literally in our customers’ shoes.
- We take risks and blaze new trails. Much of what we build has no existing template. Greenfield product, technical and design challenges are common, and our willingness to tackle them head-on is what keeps us ahead of the competition.
- We turn ideas into reality, fast. We have world-class designers and engineers who bring concepts to life with speed and quality. As quickly as we can define a solution, we look for lightweight ways to test it in the field. Prototypes and conversations are useful, but our most valuable learning comes from seeing real products used by real farmers, doing real work.

What We Do
We bridge deep tech into farming and ranching. Halter enables farmers and ranchers to remotely shift, virtually fence and proactively monitor their cows’ health and behavior. Can you imagine watching 500 cows or cattle walk calmly towards the milking shed or their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a herd of cows walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing farming and ranching with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry.
