Senior Product Manager – Roles and Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Manager at DataHub Data, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our core product, DataHub, driving the development of metadata-driven capabilities that empower data teams at some of the world’s most data-forward organizations.
You will be responsible for defining the product vision, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring customer success by deeply understanding user needs and the broader data ecosystem. You will operate with high ownership, working autonomously to scope and deliver impactful features while staying grounded in customer value and business goals.
 
Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Product Ownership
  • Drive the product lifecycle from problem discovery through delivery and adoption.
  • Define product vision and roadmaps in partnership with leadership, engineering, design, and GTM teams.
  • Serve as the accountable owner for delivering measurable business and customer outcomes.
2. Customer-Centric Discovery and Scoping
  • Engage directly with customers and prospects to uncover pain points, validate solutions, and understand evolving needs.
  • Translate ambiguous user problems into well-scoped product initiatives with clear definitions of success.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, bringing user empathy to every stage of the development cycle.
3. Project Definition and Success Criteria
  • Define success metrics and KPIs for product initiatives, ensuring each project has a clear ROI and adoption goal.
  • Work closely with engineering to break down complex projects into iterative milestones.
  • Ensure smooth execution of projects with clear documentation, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
4. Market and Competitive Awareness
  • Stay informed on trends in the data catalog, data observability, and governance spaces.
  • Monitor competitor offerings to identify gaps, opportunities, and differentiators for DataHub.
  • Use market and competitive intelligence to inform product strategy and positioning.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with design to create intuitive, elegant user experiences for technical and non-technical personas.
  • Partner with marketing and sales to craft compelling product narratives, launch strategies, and enablement content.
  • Work closely with customer success to ensure product adoption and feedback loops post-launch.
6. Internal Leadership and Strategy
  • Act as a thought partner to product and engineering leadership, contributing to long-term product strategy.
  • Mentor junior PMs or associate PMs as needed, promoting a high-performance and high-ownership culture.
  • Help evolve product processes and tooling as the company scales.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in enterprise SaaS, developer tools, or data infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of independently owning and shipping impactful products.
  • Strong discovery skills with experience working directly with customers and turning insights into products.
  • Deep understanding of the modern data stack and metadata systems is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to align technical and business stakeholders.
