Position Summary

This role centers on facilitating the needs of F5.com and its customer-facing marketing sites to ensure they deliver a clean, fast, accessible, and consistent web experience that effectively represents F5’s voice and intent. As part of this responsibility, the role supports the infrastructure, functionality, and overall effectiveness of these sites while collaborating with development teams, vendors, and cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Sales—to address evolving business requirements. By enabling the seamless delivery of content and capabilities, this role helps drive customer engagement, strengthen the brand’s digital presence, and support overarching marketing and sales initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for F5.com that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives, formulate and implement strategic plans to enhance the digital presence, and create and maintain a detailed roadmap for feature development and enhancements.
  • Deliver a clean, fast, accessible, and consistent web experience to represent the F5 brand.
  • Establish and build web systems according to best practices of robust, scalable, and compliant systems through strong operational excellence principles, architectural decisions, processes, and tools.
  • Collaborate with a web development team to build and maintain web properties for F5.com discovery of products and services.
  • Drive customer perception of F5 as a reputable and trusted security vendor.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize web properties as digital marketing channels to provide content suitable for various efforts within the marketing and sales funnels.
  • Triage Jira/Azure DevOps tickets and build enhancements to provide necessary features for the Content Management System to meet increasing demands.
  • Document the feature/enhancement vision and scope for F5.com.
  • Elicit and write requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Decompose business requirements into Projects, Epics, Features, and User Stories, with functional and non-functional requirements specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements, including architecture, development, and testing.
  • Define and document assumptions, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements. Represent requirements using alternative views, such as diagrams, prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.
  • Manage the ongoing life cycle responsibilities for features/enhancements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize backlogs.
  • Propose new product features and updates - evaluate new functionality that should be applied to F5.com.
  • Develop and report on success metrics and key performance indicators for F5.com, and for other elements of F5 team performance as needed.
  • Own and actively manage other necessary functions for site operations, including taxonomy, UX, design, search, authentication, analytics, and others, coordinating with dedicated resources in these areas as needed and as available.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical
    • Understanding of web infrastructure, DNS, distributed systems, HTTP/2
    • Working knowledge of a broad range of security topics and controls
    • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • Working knowledge of ADO, Jira, Figma, Ceros, Coveo, Sprinklr, ContactMonkey, and Tableau
    • Deep knowledge of Adobe AEM and related features including the Adobe DAM, Adobe Analytics, Adobe taxonomy management tools
    • Understanding of technical and content SEO for web and mobile
    • Ability to make technical decisions that align with the best practices of web infrastructure and building scalable systems
  • Project management
    • Knowledge of technical management, leading development team in agile/scrum process as PO
    • Ability to estimate work velocity and capacity and design sprint workflow in Jira & ADO
    • Ability to write technical specifications, documentation, project scope, and timeline
    • Continuously balance needs of the customer, priorities of the business, and capabilities of the team
  • Creative
    • Working knowledge of wireframing and graphics tools including GIMP, Zeplin, and Figma
    • Ability to write creative briefs, PowerPoint Presentations
    • Strong understanding of responsive design and UX principles

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with a focus in Marketing or Technology, or equivalent professional experience
  • 6+ years of experience running day-to-day agile/scrum process for a development team
  • Excellent communication skills on marketing, technical, and product terms
  • Strong emphasis on quality software and robust testing

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. 
  • Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
  • Duties require the ability to travel up to 50% via automobile and airplane, and may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). 
  • Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.

The annual base pay for this position is: $160,666.00 - $240,998.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
