As a Senior Product Manager, you’re reaching elite status within the role. Senior Product Managers are undoubtedly product and market experts. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to define product needs, market competition, and messaging. You’re continuously defining processes and contributing ideas for third-party partners and strategies to expand market share. Senior Product Managers are autonomous and sought after by clients and teammates for clear, accurate answers and reassurance from a trusted voice.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Product, Vision, Strategy & Roadmap:
- Align product area priorities with portfolio strategy, corporate goals, and measurable outcomes (OKRs, KPIs, North Star metrics).
- Own and communicate a compelling product vision grounded in customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights.
- Maintain transparency around roadmap decisions and articulate the “why” behind prioritization to stakeholders.
Customer & Market Insight:
- Lead continuous discovery efforts, gathering insights from customers, advisory groups, internal teams, and market research.
- Develop and maintain personas, user journeys, and problem statements in partnership with UX.
- Monitor competitive landscape and emerging industry trends to ensure product differentiation and relevance.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Provide leadership to UX, Engineering, QA, Documentation, and Data teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Own the product backlog, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and alignment with strategic outcomes.
- Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross‑team collaboration to ensure efficient delivery.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Services to ensure successful product launches, adoption strategies, and customer enablement.
Product Development & Delivery:
- Translate product vision into Epics, Features, and User Stories that drive clear execution.
- Collaborate with UX to validate designs and ensure they reflect user needs and product strategy.
- Support engineering teams by triaging issues, clarifying requirements, and removing blockers.
- Coordinate rollout plans across Support, Services, Sales, and Account Management.
Data Driven Decision Making:
- Define and track product metrics to evaluate feature performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Use analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback to validate hypotheses and guide prioritization.
- Partner with data teams to ensure product decisions are grounded in evidence.
AI, Automation & Innovation:
- Research and implement ethical generative AI practices that enhance internal workflows and product capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for responsible automation within product areas to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and assess their strategic relevance.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and analytics to enhance decision-making, improve efficiency, and drive measurable business outcomes when appropriate.
- Apply sound judgment and ethical standards when using AI, ensuring accuracy, data privacy, and responsible human-in-the-loop oversight.
Stakeholder Communication & Influence:
- Deliver clear, compelling communication to executives, cross‑functional partners, and clients.
- Provide RFP support, product messaging, and enablement materials for Sales and Marketing.
- Represent the company at conferences, client events, and industry forums.
Leadership, Mentorship & Team Development:
- Serve as a mentor and coach to Product Managers, helping them strengthen product thinking, execution skills, and strategic decision‑making.
- Provide guidance on best practices in discovery, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Lead by example in cross‑functional alignment, conflict resolution, and decision‑making frameworks.
Professional Development:
- Maintain strong functional and industry expertise by engaging in professional communities, continuing education, and market research.
- Stay informed on evolving product management methodologies, technologies, and ethical AI practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Computer Science or related field.
- 2-5 years’ experience working at an Accredited College/University.
- 10+ years’ experience in a Product Manager role in a related field.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Creative, analytical, and strategic thinker with demonstrated innovation in problem solving.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including Agile Scrum, shift-left practices, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience with Aha! or similar product management tools.
- Pragmatic Institute certification is a plus.
The pay range for this position is $95,000-$106,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits.
