About the Team
The Roku TV Platform and Core Technology Product Management team is responsible for the hardware reference designs we provide to ODM partners, the roadmap for hardware and software features that power our core technologies, and the roadmap for advanced TV technologies that will propel future business growth. The team’s objective is to ensure Roku's platforms are differentiated from the competition in technology, features, performance, cost, and time to market.
About the Role
As the Senior Product Manager for Roku TV platforms, you will be accountable for defining and executing on a comprehensive roadmap of TV reference designs which drive continued scale for our business. This includes SoC definition and selection, new software features to improve performance KPIs, tooling to maximize product reliability, global product certifications + compliance, experimentation with novel system architectures, and adaptation of emerging technologies to enable the next generation of delightful end user experiences on our platform.

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced product leader with a deep technical understanding of embedded system architecture and the business acumen to apply that knowledge in ways that drive impact for Roku. Some days will be spent with silicon partners working through ways to optimize memory architecture or brainstorming how to support multi-video decode on cost-sensitive platforms. Other days will be spent digesting the impact of emerging regulatory standards on Roku’s business, helping business partners strategize ways to win new accounts, or writing feature guides to introduce new capabilities to our platform. No matter the challenge, the ideal candidate drives what matters and establishes credibility up and down the leadership chain with clear communication and sound decision making that results in positive business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
- Own the global roadmap for Roku TV reference platforms, ensuring alignment to Roku business goals, strategy, and OEM/OBM requirements.
- Monitor and influence SoC partner roadmaps to align with and enhance the Roku product strategy (graphics, memory architecture, power consumption, AI/ML support, Picture and Audio processing, value-add features)
- Partner with engineering and advanced development teams to prototype novel TV architectures which unlock innovative industrial design, step-function cost savings, new uses cases, and more delightful end user experiences
- Track evolving industry, regulatory and worldwide channel partner compliance requirements
- Cultivate executive relationships with key partners. Maintain a pulse on emerging technologies that will shape the future of the TV industry
- Conceive and execute on new features, tools, and HW/SW product concepts. Write specs, prototype, drive consumer research, and help craft go-to-market.
- Understand Roku’s business and successfully apply that knowledge to extend our competitive advantage
- Track program risks, help drive mitigations, and represent status to the broader leadership team.

- Experience:
- 10+ years technical background in silicon, display, or embedded consumer hardware
- 4+ years in technical product management
- Experience leading the delivery of multiple cross-functional and multi-workstream programs (hardware and software)
- Experience leading R&D efforts and bringing new hardware and software technologies to market
- Strong network within the TV industry a plus
- Willing and able to travel to USA, China, EU ; ~10%
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin
- BS or equivalent. MS preferred
