Apex's Product Managers combine financial industry research and knowledge with our technical expertise to develop leading product strategies. An example of this would be performing market analysis to identify a product gap, then working with SMEs and engineering to deliver a seamless solution to our customers. As a Senior Product Manager (Trade Execution), your work will have an immediate impact. You'll be able to see your direct impact on our tech department and with our clients.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Define, own and deliver the next generation of Apex Clearing's Trading Technology stack and tools to support Apex Clearing execution capabilities and value proposition to clients and prospects.
- Drive prioritization and requirements definition for strategic initiatives and product priorities to deliver key business outcomes.
- Oversees multiple product management processes, establishes priorities, and coordinates with teams to create schedules throughout the product life cycle.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients
- Collate detailed requirements and define User Stories in collaboration with internal and external customers.
- Work with development team to deliver against these in an Agile context and to ratify proposed technical solutions, including testing new functionality
- Prioritize requests to drive growth and maximize profitability
- Work collaboratively with various internal and external teams to resolve dependencies..
- Interact with clients to validate demand and verify the accuracy of the planned workflows
- Promote adoption of the completed product and provide training tools/documentation to drive successful use
- Understand and partner with trading tech vendor relationships.
- Constantly collaborates with other departments to build trust and understanding.
- Support Sales/Relationship Management in customer meetings and calls as a subject matter expert
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of prior experience preferably with demonstrable knowledge of trading workflows, market structure and networking standards
- Experience with trading and brokerage compliance regimes, including Market Connectivity, Risk Management and Regulatory Requirements such as Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) reporting
- Demonstrated success in leading product development teams through complex enterprise initiatives; SaaS / Cloud Architecture, API platform, Legacy app consolidation, etc. B2B experience a plus.
- FINRA Series 7 License preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to listen. While being Customer-centric, you elicit non-obvious customer needs, and synthesize research to gain a deep understanding and narrow definition of a problem
- Ability to multitask, be proactive and demonstrate ownership /initiative
- Understanding of post trade processes including, settlement operations and trade reporting.
- Understanding of FIX protocol and general OMS workflows understanding of REST API development a plus
- Knowledge of Bulk Order processing with support for multi-assets
- Familiarity with Agile practices, with a strong preference for incremental delivery.
- Organized and are comfortable overseeing multiple work streams, ensuring that your team can stay focused on enabling great experiences.
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross functional teams and third parties
- Experience presenting execution capabilities to heads of trading and senior leaders.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills.
- Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Slack, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
