Senior Product Manager, SD-WAN
Location : San Jose
Extreme Networks is seeking a Senior Product Manager for SD-WAN to own product strategy, roadmap, and market delivery for AI-driven, cloud-managed SD-WAN solutions. This role will connect branch routing, network security, cloud integrations, and Fabric-to-the-Edge strategy to help enterprises modernize for a cloud-first, AI-powered future.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, this high-impact role owns a strategic product line and partners across engineering, GTM, sales, and customers to strengthen Extreme’s position in the SD-WAN market.
Core Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define the SD-WAN vision, roadmap, priority use cases, and AI-driven automation strategy
Use market, customer, and competitive insights to identify differentiation and prioritize investments
Build a compelling product narrative around cloud-managed SD-WAN, edge intelligence, and self-healing networks
Fabric-to-the-Edge Strategy
Lead Fabric-to-the-Edge use cases that connect data center fabric, branch SD-WAN, routing, switching, and policy automation
Position SD-WAN as a key enabler of unified edge management and distributed services
Engineering Collaboration & Requirements
Translate customer and market needs into clear engineering requirements, priorities, and specifications
Partner with engineering on architecture, feasibility, trade-offs, and delivery planning
Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead planning, check-ins, retrospectives, and launch readiness across engineering, QA, product marketing, and sales
Align teams on OKRs, milestones, trade-offs, and product decisions
Cloud & SaaS Platform Evolution
Evolve SD-WAN with Extreme’s SaaS cloud platform, analytics, automation, and network services
Support subscription and consumption models while ensuring operational excellence, security, and compliance
Go-To-Market (GTM) Execution
Partner with sales and product marketing on messaging, positioning, enablement, battle cards, and training
Shape MSP, channel, pricing, packaging, and bundling strategies to drive adoption and expansion
Customer & Partner Advocacy
Engage customers, partners, advisory boards, and escalations to turn feedback into product insight
Drive innovation in network visibility, intelligence, and AI-assisted operations
Key Requirements
Experience
10+ years in product management, including 5+ years in SaaS, SD-WAN, Routing, cloud networking, security, or enterprise infrastructure
Proven record shipping products or major features that drove adoption, revenue, or market differentiation
Experience in B2B networking, security, infrastructure, or platform software markets
Technical & Domain Expertise
Strong understanding of enterprise networking, SD-WAN architecture, routing, switching, branch gateways, appliance hardware, and cloud connectivity
Knowledge of cloud platforms, hybrid/multi-cloud architectures, AIOps, network analytics, and fabric/edge use cases
Platform & Product Knowledge
Experience with unified cloud-managed platforms, SaaS, multi-tenant systems, subscription models, and managed networking services
Experience with SD-WAN hardware platforms, appliance lifecycle, performance benchmarks, operational characteristics, MSPs, and channel ecosystems
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strong cross-functional leadership, executive communication, analytical thinking, and customer empathy
Comfort working through ambiguity, making trade-offs, and adapting to market feedback
