SafetyChain Software is seeking a Senior Product Manager –  Production & OEE to drive product execution and deliver customer-ready solutions for our Production Performance and OEE capabilities. This role is central to SafetyChain’s modernization initiative, supporting the transition from legacy systems to a unified Production Monitoring & Tasking platform.

The ideal candidate has experience in B2B SaaS product delivery and familiarity with manufacturing operations, production metrics, downtime tracking, operator workflows, and/or MES or OEE systems. They excel in cross-functional collaboration, communicate clearly, and are energized by solving real operational challenges for customers.

What You'll Do :

Execution & Delivery

  • Deliver against the roadmap for Production Monitoring, OEE, Downtime, and Performance features.
  • Translate strategic direction into actionable user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Partner closely with Engineering during grooming, sprint planning, and daily execution.
  • Provide ongoing clarification and rapid decision support to ensure development stays unblocked.
  • Work with QA to validate functionality, edge cases, and data accuracy before release.
  • Coordinate feature rollout and release readiness across CS, Support, Implementation, and Enablement.

Requirements & Definition

  • Write clear workflows, data requirements, and operator experience details for production run tracking, downtime coding, hourly counts, scrap, yield, and OEE metrics.
  • Ensure all requirements align with SafetyChain’s evolving platform standards, shared data model, and modernization architecture.
  • Support UX with wireframes, interaction details, and workflow logic to build intuitive operator and supervisor experiences.
  • Identify dependencies and integration points with other areas of the platform.

Customer & Domain Understanding

  • Learn the fundamentals of OEE (Availability, Performance, Quality), run segmentation, downtime classification, and production KPIs.
  • Participate in customer interviews, site visits, and operator workflow observations to validate requirements.
  • Translate real plant-floor challenges into actionable improvements and refinements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

      Collaborate daily with:

    • Engineering (execution + sequencing)
    • UX (operator UI + supervisor dashboards)
    • QA (validation + defect resolution)
    • Support (field issues + troubleshooting patterns)
    • Customer Success (feature readiness + adoption feedback)
    • Implementation (configurations, use cases, and customer workflows)
    • Communicate release timing, scope, and changes to internal stakeholders.

Quality, Stability & Iteration

  • Monitor production/OEE features post-release for usability, data quality, and reliability.
  • Triage defects, clarify edge cases, and support Engineering in determining priorities for fixes and enhancements.
  • Drive consistency in OEE KPI logic, downtime handling, and run tracking across product modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the delivery of Production Monitoring & OEE roadmap initiatives.
  • Break strategy-defined priorities into clear, development-ready user stories.
  • Own backlog organization, grooming, and functional readiness.
  • Validate that delivered features meet acceptance criteria and business intent.
  • Ensure OEE calculations, downtime logic, and production metrics follow platform standards and expected behavior.
  • Support cross-functional readiness and internal enablement before customer rollout.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of system behavior to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Support and CS to understand customer issues and drive iterative enhancements.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

Required

  • 5+ years in Product Management, Engineering, Operations, or technical roles with execution responsibility.
    Direct experience delivering SaaS features from requirements → implementation → release.
  • Strong ability to write clear requirements, acceptance criteria, workflows, and edge-case handling.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering and QA in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong organization, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage scope, quality, and delivery timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with technical concepts, data structures, and system behavior.
  • Curiosity, empathy, and willingness to learn domain concepts quickly.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with manufacturing operations, MES, OEE systems, downtime tracking, or production KPIs.
  • Understanding of operator workflows, shift structures, or production line performance.
  • Exposure to analytics tools, BI systems, semantic/KPI modeling, or AI-enhanced insights.
  • Previous work in food & beverage or other process manufacturing environments.
