About the Role (your why)
Datapay is seeking a Senior Product Manager to strategically drive the evolution of our product experience across all user cohorts. Your focus will be sequencing and prioritizing the product roadmap, utilizing insights from comprehensive discovery (involving Product Analytics, Design, and Subject Matter Experts). You will be instrumental in aligning product initiatives directly with key business objectives, continuously striving to leverage AI to accelerate team velocity and innovate new processes for product development and release. Collaborating closely with Design and Engineering, you will ensure proposed solutions are both feasible, viable and high impact. You will build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, SMEs, and business decision-makers to ensure alignment and shared success. You will bring exceptional customer understanding and empathy to life through deep research, synthesis of insights, and a relentless focus on user outcomes. By championing world-class UX, you’ll differentiate Datapay and build an enduring competitive advantage that reduces friction, accelerates adoption, and empowers users at every payroll touchpoint, ultimately defining the strategic direction for intuitive, accessible, and efficient experiences.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of product management with proven success driving impactful product strategies in fintech/payroll or regulated domains.
- Exceptional customer understanding and empathy; ability to critically interpret qualitative and quantitative signals from various sources.
- Proven ability to participate effectively in user research led by Design, translating insights into actionable prioritization, planning, and stakeholder alignment.
- A strong track record of strategic roadmap sequencing and prioritization, balancing user outcomes, business objectives, build effort, and insights from discovery involving PM, Product Analytics, Design, and Subject Matter Experts.
- Demonstrated success in aligning product initiatives with overarching business goals and company OKRs.
- Experience in designing and implementing new, successful product processes, especially leveraging AI for areas like accelerated development and optimized product releases.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance product discovery, research synthesis, documentation, and rapid prototyping to improve team velocity.
- Exceptional collaboration skills, adept at building strong partnerships with Design, Engineering, internal stakeholders, SMEs, and business decision-makers.
- High-level understanding of frontend technologies and architecture to partner effectively with engineers on technical feasibility and impact assessment.
- Track record of influencing and enabling product improvements that enhance adoption, satisfaction, efficiency, and error reduction; strong understanding of relevant metrics (e.g., task success, time on task, CSAT, NPS, funnel metrics).
- Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG), inclusive design, and compliance considerations in product development.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities; passion for coaching junior PMs and promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Strategically sequence and prioritize the product roadmap, integrating insights from product discovery (in collaboration with Product Analytics, Design, and Subject Matter Experts), build effort, and business objectives.
- Actively participate in user research led by Design, synthesizing insights to inform prioritization, planning, and stakeholder alignment for maximum user and business impact.
- Guide product initiatives from a strategic perspective, partnering closely with Design and Engineering to ensure proposed solutions are well-defined, feasible, and aligned to deliver high impact across all user cohorts.
- Champion the development and implementation of innovative product processes, particularly leveraging AI to accelerate planning, optimize product releases, and improve overall team efficiency.
- Align product initiatives and outcomes with overarching company OKRs and key business goals, communicating progress and impact to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and business decision-makers to ensure strategic alignment and successful product outcomes.
- Translate validated insights into clear Product Backlog Items (PBIs) and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with Design's UX strategy and functional requirements.
- Monitor key product metrics (e.g., adoption, satisfaction, efficiency, error rates) and conduct post-launch analyses to drive continuous improvement and data-driven decisions.
- Advocate for the user, ensuring strategic consideration of safety, compliance, inclusive design, and accessibility across the product lifecycle.
- Mentor junior product managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and user-centricity within the product team.
