We are building the monitoring and security platform for developers, IT ops teams and business users in the cloud age.
The Role
Lead product vision and roadmap for a unified fleet and lifecycle management platform that manages observability agents and collectors across hosts and Kubernetes. Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams to expand supported components, define "managed" behaviors, sequence rollout, set success metrics, and represent customer needs for both human operators and AI agents. Build business cases, validate with customers, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.

About the Role

Datadog is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help lead the evolution of our fleet and lifecycle management platform, the product surface that gives customers visibility into, and control over, the observability software running across their infrastructure.

This platform manages the deployment lifecycle for core observability agents and OpenTelemetry collectors running on customer hosts and Kubernetes clusters. The Senior PM will expand the scope of the platform to additional software components, making it the single place customers go to see everything running in their environment, at any version, in any deployment model, and to manage it remotely and safely at scale, for both human operators and, increasingly, AI agents acting on their behalf.

This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role. You'll partner with multiple engineering teams and be responsible for defining and delivering a coherent, unified platform experience across UI, API, and MCP for customers.

What You'll Do
  • Own and evolve the product vision and roadmap for a unified fleet and lifecycle management platform spanning multiple product lines and deployment models.

  • Define what "managed" means for each new software component as it's brought into the platform, balancing consistency of experience with the realities of each component's operational model.

  • Drive a phased expansion plan, sequencing new components onto the platform based on customer value, technical complexity, and dependency readiness.

  • Partner closely with engineering leads across several teams to align on shared architecture principles to support disparate software components.

  • Represent the voice of the customer for a platform that must work equally well for human operators using a UI and for AI agents/automated tooling operating programmatically.

  • Build the business case, define success metrics, and communicate roadmap and trade-offs to engineering, design, sales, and executive stakeholders.

  • Stay closely connected to customers and design partners to validate priorities and de-risk major roadmap bets.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning complex, technical, platform-level products.

  • Experience shipping infrastructure, DevOps, IT operations, or observability/monitoring products, ideally involving fleet management, configuration management, or software lifecycle/deployment tooling.

  • Demonstrated ability to build product direction across multiple engineering teams with differing priorities, and to drive alignment without direct authority.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, defining scope and sequencing capabilities that deliver customer value incrementally.

  • Strong technical fluency; you don't need to write code, but you should be comfortable discussing architecture trade-offs with engineers.

  • Experience designing products for emerging AI-agent/automation use cases is a strong plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can distill a sprawling, multi-team initiative into a clear narrative for different audiences.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based deployment models and operator patterns.

  • Experience with remote configuration or feature-flagging infrastructure at scale.

  • Familiarity with BYOC (bring-your-own-cloud) or customer-hosted software deployment models.

Benefits and Growth
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)

  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing

  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)

  • Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+

  • Competitive global benefits and giving programs

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
