Meet the financial technology platform helping the world’s leading businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
The Role

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Adyen operates at the core of global finance; not just enabling our merchants to move money securely, but ensuring that we, as a financial institution, remain compliant, resilient, and trusted. As a Senior Product Manager for Financial Crime (AML/CFT), you will lead the strategy and execution for one of Adyen’s most critical internal domains: the systems and controls that allow us to meet global anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing obligations.

Senior Product Manager, Financial Crime (AML/CFT)

This role is fundamental to protecting Adyen’s ability to scale globally, ensuring we maintain our banking and financial licenses, meet stringent regulatory expectations, and securely serve enterprise merchants across all regions. Beyond that, you will be responsible for shaping the future of AML and CFT at Adyen. This involves leveraging our unique, end-to-end technology stack and global platform capabilities to design and implement highly automated, intelligent financial crime defenses. You will apply advanced machine learning and AI to proactively identify, investigate, and prevent illicit financial flows, reinforcing the integrity of the financial system we operate within.

You’ll need strong product craft, regulatory awareness, and the ability to build scalable, future-ready solutions that balance compliance, efficiency, usability, and Adyen commercial needs.

What you'll do:

  • Define Vision & Strategy: You will develop and articulate a compelling long-term product vision and roadmap for Adyen's AML/CFT capabilities. This includes ruthlessly prioritizing initiatives to address the most critical financial crime risks, balancing evolving regulatory mandates, product needs, and operational workload.
  • Lead Product Execution: Translate strategic objectives into actionable product initiatives, driving end-to-end delivery from ideation to launch. This involves leading the strategy of the area, ensuring alignment and execution across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Data Science, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Risk teams.
  • Enhance Efficiency & Effectiveness: Identify and drive opportunities to improve and automate AML/CFT processes. This includes leveraging data, machine learning, and AI to build robust detection methods, optimize investigations, and enhance overall operational efficiency while balancing  quality and compliance.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the cross functional teams mentioned above to design and implement solutions. You will be key in finding the balance between regulatory requirements, product needs, and operational constraints.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor evolving global AML/CFT regulations, emerging financial crime typologies, and advancements in AI and automation technologies. Proactively adapt and future-proof our frameworks to set new industry standards.
  • Measure & Optimize Performance: Establish clear success metrics for AML/CFT effectiveness and efficiency. Beyond owning analytics on performance and adoption metrics, this role will drive the AML/CFT strategy, including the mapping of regulatory requirements to financial crime scenarios. You will lead the generation of actionable insights, ensuring data-driven prioritization and continuous iterative product improvements.
  • Executive Communication: Present results, plans, and strategic direction to executive leadership, effectively articulating complex regulatory and technical concepts into clear business implications and actionable insights.

Who you are:

  • Product Management Expertise: 6+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of launching, scaling, and optimizing successful products at scale with quantifiable value.
  • Strategic & Prioritization Acumen: Demonstrated ability in ruthless prioritization, defining and articulating a product strategy, and gaining stakeholder buy-in while thriving in execution.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influence: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes, articulate challenging priority tradeoffs, and previous experience presenting results and plans to executives.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Navigation: Experience working in regulatory setups, with a proven ability to find a balance between compliance requirements, product needs, and operational workload.
  • Data, Automation & AI Experience: Experience in leveraging data, building machine learning models, driving automation, and exploring AI applications to solve complex problems.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: A strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to balance complex requirements with maintaining a seamless and positive customer experience.
  • Collaborative & Adaptable: Ability to successfully operate in a global organization, working with diverse teams across different offices and time zones, and a quick learner with a 'launch fast and iterate' approach.
  • Financial Crime Domain (Highly Recommended): Previous experience in the financial crime (AML/CFT) domain is highly encouraged and desirable due to the specific complexities of the area.

What We Do

Adyen (ADYEN:AMS) is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies. By providing end-to-end payments capabilities, data-driven insights, and financial products in a single global solution, Adyen helps businesses achieve their ambitions faster. With offices around the world, Adyen works with the likes of Meta, Uber, H&M, eBay, and Microsoft.

Why Work With Us

At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. We started with payments, at a time when providers offered services based on a patchwork of systems built on outdated infrastructure. Ambition demanded more. So we set off to build a financial technology platform for the modern era, entirely in-house, from the ground up.
