Get to know Okta
Okta is The World’s Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth.
At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we’re looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences.
Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

At Okta, we’re on a mission to make sure everyone can safely and seamlessly use any technology they need, anytime, anywhere. Imagine building a world where logging into your favorite apps or connecting to company tools is as easy and secure as flipping a switch. That’s what we do! We help businesses keep their teams and customers safe with innovative identity solutions that simplify and secure every digital experience.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is curious, empathetic, and deeply technical, with a passion for building next-generation authenticator experiences that raise the bar for usability and security. You will lead the product strategy for Okta’s Authenticators —the trusted engine behind our credentials, passkeys, FIDO2 WebAuthn, device signals, and recovery experiences.

You’ll shape how users authenticate across devices and surfaces, how organizations enforce phishing-resistant MFA, and how developers integrate modern authentication into their apps. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that requires technical fluency, strategic thinking, and customer obsession.

A day in the life of this Sr. Product Manager

On a daily basis, you'll have a chance to work with everyone who makes access management successful, including senior leadership, engineers, business and sales experts, marketing, advocates, data scientists, content writers, and more. You will meet with customers to understand our core strengths and weaknesses. You will synthesize that feedback and other industry knowledge, with business and service data, to create strategies and test hypotheses. As someone central to the success of Okta’s access management, people will look to you on a regular basis to solve problems and help the broader customer base. To develop that expertise, you'll constantly be looking to learn by reaching out to other experts within Okta. Our customer personas are Okta administrations  and technical decision makers, so you will be using technical documentation, product demos, to understand problems and communicate solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, design and research teams to define and document user stories and use-cases to guide product development.
  • Define and execute product roadmap and prioritize features for Access Management
  • Collaborate with product marketing and developer relations to support the creation of messaging and content and enable the sales team.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify customer needs and pain points, and use this information to inform innovation, product decisions and prioritization
  • Develop, research, and clearly communicate product strategies across different levels of stakeholders and leadership chain
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including engineering, field teams, tech partnerships,  and marketing, to ensure the successful launch and adoption of Okta integrations.
  • Define and communicate product requirements, including features, user experience, and technical specifications, to engineering teams.
  • Leverage product data to continually get smarter about how to improve our existing products, and work across the business to drive adoption and success
  • Track industry trends and think strategically to develop solutions that are differentiated from the competition
  • Be the subject matter expert for your product area and help enable your counterparts in the core product, Marketing, and tech partnerships teams.

Required:

  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management experience in enterprise scale SaaS products, Identity and Access management or comparable relevant experience.
  • Experience building or product managing the feature areas for enterprise platform ecosystems/services.
  • Experience developing, socializing, and driving strategies spanning multiple parts of an organization. Track record of owning and delivering on large strategic projects - you can see the big picture, but deliver on the details.
  • Strong communication (presentation, verbal and written) and collaboration skills. You easily work with customers and colleagues across different functions and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated business results from products, features or capabilities you have shipped.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You can produce solid action plans from often incomplete, conflicting or ambiguous inputs.
  • Passion for Okta’s huge opportunity and growth potential, and general thirst for learning with an ability to go broad and deep across business and technical contexts.
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technical degree that allows you to rationalize and influence technical design decisions.
  • Functional leadership experience, MBA, or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Identity and Access management protocols and products
  • Advanced degree in technical or business field
  • Experience across the product management lifecycle for enterprise products or services, integration considerations surfaced in the user experience in particular
  • Experience with creating requirements for security focused customer
