Senior Product Developer, Jordan Energy Footwear

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a member of the Jordan Product Development team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners – both within Nike/Jordan and external to Nike/Jordan.  You will report to the Footwear Product Development Director in this category.

You will need to navigate the Jordan Brand matrix & culture to ensure that our processes model and match Jordan Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence as well as Jordan craftsmanship standards. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate. You will develop and utilize footwear knowledge to drive results and appropriately achieve project designs. You will apply fundamental understanding of multiple types of footwear and standard methodologies to identify product and testing requirements and assure product performance through physical and field-testing (fit). You will recommend and specify material, component and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals. In addition, you will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, can be commercialized, manufactured, while meeting design intent performance, costing and sustainability goals thru the lens of Jordan Brand standard requirements.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Footwear Product Developer to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Creation Team, creating amazing footwear for our athletes*! The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated proven footwear product creation & project management experience, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development setting. In addition, we are looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players and that exhibit strong leadership skills.  As a member of our Jordan team, we’ll look for you to display an aptitude to gain knowledge of our consumer’s footwear needs and solve problems that are relevant and impactful.

As a member of the Nike Footwear Development team, you will inform, drive and facilitate decisions throughout the product creation process to meet or exceed the design vision, athlete performance and product excellence. You will be an active thought partner with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Materials, and Factory Product Creation Teams to develop processes and tools that push boundaries and create solutions that support the creation of Nike’s game changing footwear products.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
• A minimum of 3 years directly relevant work experience
• Knowledge of footwear manufacturing technologies and equipment, tooling, and materials.
• The ability to anticipate and solve complex footwear manufacturing issues with Asia teammates to ensure mass production can achieve quality and craftsmanship standards.
• Instils confidence and impowers a project team in delivering product excellence through collaboration.
• Bias towards action and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
• Adjust to changing circumstances and adapt to ensure product excellence
• In-depth understanding of product creation date and gates, with the ability to adjust project plans based on compressed timelines
• High profile communication and influencing skills, including the ability to interact with leadership and cross functional product creation team members

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As our Senior Footwear Product Developer at Jordan Brand footwear, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects and will recommend and specify the material, component and construction to meet key features, performance needs as well as craftsmanship standards. As a Senior Product Developer, you will also apply your understanding of sophisticated footwear creation understanding & apply to BOTH the in-line product process as well as Jordan Energy process and offerings. You will apply your expert level of footwear technical knowledge to drive product creation teams through 3D Prototyping, Bottom Tooling, Upper Patterns, Mold Design, Chemical, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives in an efficient, effective, balanced, timely, and creative way.

• Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business.
• You will utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence.
• You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets. 
• You will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.
