About the position
- Design Craft: Developing advanced design and interaction skills, with a focus on creating innovative, detailed, and high-quality designs that meet business objectives based on customer needs.
- See the bigger picture – not just a feature or set of features.
- Time and Relationship Management: Capable of independently managing multiple projects end-to-end, in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Influence: Lead design discussions, mentor mid-level designers, and effectively communicate with stakeholders, including senior leaders and executives.
- Data and Research Application: Clearly articulate the why behind design decisions. Leverage industry benchmarks, research insights, and existing performance metrics to help their designs, and define UX metrics.
- Project Ownership and Execution: Take ownership of specific design tasks within a project, focusing on executing tasks effectively under Senior guidance and meeting deadlines, with some autonomy but requiring approval for larger decisions.
- Design specifications and Developer hand off: Able to define and communicate specifications with developers independently.
- Experience defining and maintaining design systems would be plus.
- A few things that are very important to the role:
- Mobile design experience, designing for both complex and simple experiences.
- Experience working with Interaction design, Motion animation (e.g., developing animated assets using After Effects, defining specifications for micro interactions).
- Experience developing customer facing landing pages (e.g., SaaS type product websites, Account management experiences).
- Must work on-site in Seattle, WA five days a week.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- Prior work history in e-commerce working with device design and enterprise design.
- Driven by user-centered and design thinking methodologies.
- Experience building and launching features/products that encompass an end-to-end experience across a variety of platforms.
- Demonstrated ability designing intuitive and meaningful mobile apps.
- Hands-on experience with Figma, and other prototyping tools.
- Clear and articulate written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Case studies that tell the story of your approach and design process to solve complex problems driven by data.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
