THE ROLE


PlayOn is looking for an exceptional Senior Product Designer to help revolutionize our High School video streaming platform.


As a Senior Product Designer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of how High School sports fans consume streaming and short-form sports content. We're looking for a passionate and curious individual who can lead our team in creating intuitive, engaging, and groundbreaking user experiences.


As part of the Product Management team, you will work within a dedicated, supportive team focused on building innovative, market-leading solutions.


Additional responsibilities and accountabilities for this role could include:


• Lead design vision and execution for the NFHS product, shaping direction for the product team to create an exceptional and unmatched interactive experience

• Conduct both strategic and tactical level research as required that represents findings as the voice of the user

• Have product visual and behavioral ownership, making important decisions about product vision, roadmap, and how the NFHS Network looks, feels, and works

• Proactively engage and influence stakeholders to drive the design strategy, improve processes, and align team objectives

• Drive a collaborative practice and engage in deep partnership with cross-functional teams for ongoing, consistent impact

• Lead design practice by example and mentor other designers on the team

• Champion a culture of research and validation that informs the organization’s design value

• Lead all aspects of design execution across releases. Create user experience goals, priorities and results that align with OKRs

• Represent the team and the team’s work across senior leadership levels

• Be a persistent evangelist for design as a valued function. Drive design culture, practices, and processes



THE PERSON


• 7+ years of industry experience as a design leader with a proven record of delivering exceptional design, leadership and strategy that meets user needs, product requirements & business objectives

• Preferably a strong formal education - Bachelor’s / Masters in HCI, Information Design or design related field, with an emphasis on user experience or interaction design

• Background in designing successful B2C user experiences for consumer-facing products or services. Experience in streaming platforms (e.g., video, audio, gaming) is a plus

• Passion for an influential role as a driver of design process and product strategy, communicating design ideas persuasively and concisely to the organization, including executives

• Proficiency in fundamental visual & interaction design principles, and industry standard design tools

• Experienced in leveraging Figma's advanced features, including variables and complex component structures to build dynamic and adaptable designs

• Ability to grasp complex problems and translate them to practical design solutions

• Ability to apply social, technical, business, and behavioral factors to UX across a user journey

• Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate goals, problems, opportunities, and solutions.

• Strong operational skills with the ability to work independently, and drive close collaboration and alignment between design, product development, engineering, and business.

• Being a phenomenal team player who loves to have fun while getting things done!
