Senior Product Designer

As a Senior Product Designer at Employer Direct Healthcare, you will address complex challenges in healthcare management. This includes our SurgeryPlus and Cancer Care Direct digital product offerings. You will be tasked with designing intuitive solutions that simplify processes for users and our own internal staffers helping patients manage healthcare needs, which can often be nuanced and complex depending on medical case.  

This role is ideal for those who are autonomous, enjoy solving problems from first principles, and are eager to lead the design direction for our entire digital product and service design presence in Cancer Care Direct. 

This position reports directly to the Director of Design. 

Location: Remote | USA | Travel Required

Your Journey at Employer Direct Healthcare: 

• First Month: Dive into our operations, align with teams, and grasp our design challenges and goals. You'll start making your mark with initial contributions during this period. 
• Next 3 Months: Engage deeply with intricate user needs to understand how design can spearhead solutions in addressing healthcare's toughest challenges. You'll focus on a specific product line, such as patient onboarding, telemedicine, or personalized healthcare plans, contributing to our evolving design system. 
• Next 8 Months: Lead and innovate in the design challenges within the healthcare and service sectors. Influence our product plans and strategy, leaving a significant impact on our products, your team, and the broader design community. 

Responsibilities:

• Develop top-tier visuals, interactions, and workflows for core products. 
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to conceptualize the roadmap. 
• Mentor and work alongside fellow designers to develop a cohesive design system and component library. 
• Support and drive user experience research alongside senior product team leadership. 
• Engage with our customer base to tackle unique UX challenges 
• Lead projects from MVPs to full functionality, ensuring adherence to our design and architectural standards. 

Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years in web design and product design. Experience mentoring junior designers or leading design projects is highly valued. 
• Proficiency in conducting user interviews and analyzing results. 
• Hands-on experience with tools like Figma, Sketch, Framer, or their equivalents. 
• Strong prototyping skills to effectively communicate new user flows and experiences. 
• Ability to distill complex processes into user-friendly workflows. 
• Knowledge of design industry trends, ideally collaborating with technical teams (knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript is a plus). 
• Familiarity with Tailwind UI, Foundation, React or other CSS frameworks a massive advantage. 
• Exceptional remote collaboration skills, as in-office (Dallas) roles will coordinate with remote colleagues.
