As a (Senior) Product Compliance Expert (m/f/x) in our Product Content Team, you will turn product related regulatory requirements into practical, scalable content for our software solutions, making compliance more efficient, reliable, and manageable for companies worldwide.
We are looking for a product compliance expert with a strong affinity for technology, structured data, and AI-driven workflows. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you will translate legislation into clear, actionable requirements and ready-to-use compliance templates for our customers.
Your focus will be on evolving product compliance requirements around the Digital Product Passports (DPP) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Beyond individual regulations, you will identify common requirements and opportunities for standardization and automation to develop solutions that can be reused across regulations and customers.
This is an opportunity to combine regulatory expertise with innovative technology and actively shape how companies manage product compliance.
This position is based in Mannheim, Germany. We embrace a hybrid work model with three in-office days per week, offering a mix of face-to-face collaboration and remote flexibility.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the development of Product Compliance content, from regulatory discovery through product implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Conduct precise analysis of regulatory requirements, distinguishing between legislative text, official guidance, and interpretation—and clearly naming gaps rather than filling them.
- Translate complex compliance legislation into clear, structured content that product and engineering teams can act on, balancing legal precision with practical usability.
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape across EPR, DPP, and adjacent product compliance domains, assess implications for our product strategy, and flag emerging requirements early.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prioritize compliance features and content updates based on regulatory urgency, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
- Leverage AI and automation tools—including agentic systems—to research, synthesize, and maintain compliance content at scale, while maintaining critical oversight of output quality.
- Work with structured data formats (Git, YAML, JSON) to version-control and manage compliance rules, enabling seamless integration with product systems.
Your Experience
- 4–8 years of professional experience in product compliance, environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, or a closely related role, with demonstrated expertise in product-level compliance requirements.
- Overall familiarity with EU compliance frameworks is essential with proven experience around EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) and/or DPP (Digital Product Passport) regulations.
- A precise, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to read legislation carefully, distinguish legal requirements from interpretation, and identify gaps in guidance or product logic.
- Strong analytical thinking, including the ability to test rules against edge cases and concrete scenarios before trusting them in product decisions.
- Comfortable working with product and engineering teams; able to discuss functional requirements, data structures, and technical trade-offs in compliance implementation.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) or structured data management (Git, YAML, JSON) in a professional context.
- A data-informed and collaborative approach, combining regulatory requirements, customer feedback, technical constraints, and market developments to drive content and product strategy.
- Fluency in German; English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
