Job Summary
AUSA News is looking for a creative, driven, and experienced Senior Producer at News 12 to assist in the broadcast of newsmagazine, short and long-form documentary and true crime programming. The candidate will have 10+ years of experience working in newsmagazine, reality, documentary and true crime formats with expertise in producing, writing scripts, shooting, editing and working within show rundowns. Knowledge of general news, cultural news, and business news is necessary. Ability to use full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and an independent worker. At the same time, you must be adaptable and flexible, a team player who is able to mix easily and work effectively in our small and highly collaborative team. You are expected to be in the Bethpage office during your shift each day.
Responsibilities

• Requires the know-how to determine the best stories for newsmagazine, and long and short form non-fiction content, and have the ability to delegate duties to producers, editors, graphic designers and production assistants.
• Coordinate with the Executive Producer to make great editorial decisions -- with a keen eye on culture, history, crime, business and technology news.
• Shoot and edit long and short form packages and segments.
• Communicate with show teams, production teams, and anchors on all show-related rundowns and changes (before, during, and after each show).
• Write long-form scripts, teases, and promos for live, newsmagazine, short and long form programming.
• Oversee to ensure all errors are corrected before going live (as needed).
• Build show graphics and archival elements as needed.
• Generate exceptional story ideas and creative story angles.

Qualifications
Proven track record (10+ years) with long and short-form storytelling
Strong experience with videography
Proficient with Adobe Premiere editing suite
Excellent research and writing skills
Strong grammar, copy editing, fact check and communication skills
Familiarity with ENPS or similar rundown program
Working knowledge of production and post-production best practice techniques
Familiarity with SEO, RSS, X, Facebook and other social media
Organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $77,112.00 - $126,684.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
