About You and this Role
Provides front line reliability and maintenance subject matter expertise for process analyzers and sample systems to ensure sustained reliable equipment and process operation. Provides technical expertise which may be equipment-based or repair technique-based and impacts the reliability, availability and maintainability of the system and/or equipment. Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. May act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.
Responsibilities
- Monitors equipment performance, identifying and correcting negative trends. Escalates in a timely fashion to avoid EH&S or production impact.
- Implements missing equipment monitoring capabilities to sustain reliability.
- Does simple “5 Why” analysis to address equipment failures and provides experience on failures and repair techniques during formal root cause investigations.
- Implements solutions to resolve chronic/repeat failures.
- Performs, together with crafts or operators, advanced troubleshooting on equipment issues and repairs.
- Coaches crafts and operations personnel on appropriate repair and operations practices respectively.
- Develops procedures and quality control plans with the necessary repair details such as: clearances, tolerances, materials of construction and welding procedures. Ensures their consistent usage.
- Assists Turnaround front end loading with job scoping to ensure successful asset renewal and reliability improvement.
- Develops maintenance procedures based on Most Effective Technology (MET).
- Performs and evaluates Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) and Preventive Predictive Maintenance (PPM) results and recommends appropriate action.
- Mentors other maintenance team members in core job responsibilities, common repairs, advanced repairs and advanced diagnostics.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical discipline such as process analyzers, Instrument & Electrical (I&E), analytical or military electronics experience with analytical equipment is required.
- Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills
- An Associate degree in Instrumentation or Electronics is preferred.
- 8 or more years of industrial process analyzer experience is preferred.
- Sample system knowledge is also preferred.
- Knowledge Management: Knowledge of data integration systems as well as serial data communications techniques.
- Preventive Maintenance: Regularly checking and servicing equipment to ensure it is working properly and to prevent any potential issues before they occur.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and fix problems with equipment or systems.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Strategy that focuses on preventing issues before they arise by targeting the root causes of potential problems and planning preventive measures well in advance.
- Technical Leadership: Technical leadership refers to guiding and influencing a team or project through expertise, decision-making, and mentorship. It involves setting technical direction and fostering collaboration.
