Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Senior Principal Test Conductor Armament Certification Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK.

In this role, you will serve as technical authority for conventional/nuclear armament certification activities on both Sustainment and Modernization programs. You'll coordinate with Government, Northrop Grumman, and contractor personnel to ensure that decisions regarding the content of deliverables and technical approaches undertaken achieve expected system performance and technical requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead Tests related to nuclear requirement verification and certification.
  • Support the certification of integrated functional capability (IFC) releases, subsystem upgrades, and new weapon integration activities
  • Ensure hardware/software updates comply with conventional and nuclear safety criteria
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
  • Manage the planning and conduct of analyses/tests necessary to obtain nuclear certification of the updated configuration(s)
  • Identify, manage, and demonstrate compliance with nuclear certification requirements
  • Support long range capabilities initiative and business capture activities regarding the armament subsystem
  • Support the Hardware Sustaining Engineering IPT by providing oversight of nuclear and conventional certification requirements/tasks
  • Ensure the certified status of the weapon system is maintained. Duties will also include preparation of detailed statements of work and program schedules, program status reporting, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting.
  • Experience developing Basis of Estimates (BOE) in coordination with support organizations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR 12 years of relevant military / professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Aircraft Monitor and Control Interfaces and test verification activities.
  • Ability to develop scripts for data analysis to verify requirement compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of governing certifications, specifications, and directives with emphasis on Air Force Instruction (AFI) 63-125, Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 91-118, and AFMAN 91-119
  • Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: mechanical, electrical, computer, nuclear hardness, nuclear surety, safety, materials, statistical analysis and/or systems engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the IFC development and test process
  • Experience with formal decision-making processes: risk and opportunity management, cost benefit analysis, make/buy decisions
  • Top Secret Clearance and Program Access

Primary Level Salary Range: $105,800.00 - $158,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
