About the Role:
The Distinguished Engineer is a high-visibility role that combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership. You will be involved in architectural and design decisions across multiple teams, mentor senior engineers, and actively contribute to coding and design initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in building complex platforms, scaling cloud infrastructure, and setting engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Influence: Work closely with various teams to influence and drive architectural and platform infrastructure decisions. Ensure alignment with overall product and company goals.
- Complex Component Development: Design and build complex, scalable, and reliable software components that form the foundation of our product.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to senior engineers, helping them with design initiatives and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
- Standards and Best Practices: Contribute to the architecture guild to establish and enforce high standards for software development and infrastructure.
- Product Translation: Translate product requirements into actionable engineering steps, ensuring that design and implementation meet the needs of the business and users.
- Platform Enhancement: Focus on developing and enhancing key platform components, including recommendation engines and new feature integrations.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex architectural and design challenges faced by engineering teams, providing solutions that ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript is essential. Experience with Python is a plus.
- Microservices and Cloud Computing: Extensive experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- High-Performance Systems: Proven ability to build high-performance, scalable, and reliable software systems.
- Performance Debugging: Expertise in debugging and resolving production-level performance and scalability issues.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to complex technical challenges.
- Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and drive technical initiatives forward.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to contribute to the technical vision and strategic direction of the organization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
- Experience with Sales/Marketing platforms is a plus.
The US base salary range for this position is $212,000.00 - $291,500.00 + variable compensation + benefits.
