This person will design, build, and operate production ML systems and agentic AI workflows end-to-end – including data pipelines, modeling, evaluation, deployment, observability, and safety.  They will partner closely with engineering leaders and individual contributors across IG Tech, help to set technical direction, mentor other engineers, and work hands on with quantitative researchers and product/engineering teams to translate ambiguous investment problems into reliable AI solutions aligned with IG priorities.

  • Lead agentic AI initiatives (planning, tool use, multiagent orchestration) to move from demos to production grade solutions, including agents, evaluation frameworks, safety constraints, and observability.

  • Improve AI/ML Ops at scale: feature/data pipelines, model training/finetuning, evaluation, deployment, drift monitoring, rollback strategies, and model/service SLOs; help to implement rigorous experimentation and scientific process for ambiguous problems.

  • Partner across IG Capabilities & PAC forums to prioritize high value use cases, sequence delivery, and communicate progress/outcomes; contribute to the IG PAC Data Subcommittee on architecture, AI controls, and capacity/demand tradeoffs.

  • Mentor and elevate AI/ML knowhow and engineering craft: guide senior/principal engineers and data product creators in AI/ML design, evaluation, and operational excellence; codify standards, patterns, and playbooks that scale across IG Tech.

  • Integrate third party AI responsibly: evaluate vendor models/tools, push for the optimal outcome for Capital; partner across Strategic Sourcing, Legal & Compliance, Information Security help to ensure contracts, security, and governance align with firm’s needs.

“I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”

  • You have 15+ years in software/ML/AI engineering with 8+ years building and operating ML systems at scale (LLMs + classical ML), across data pipelines, training/evaluation, deployment, and production reliability.

  • You have demonstrated success delivering enterprise ML platforms and applications in regulated, data intensive environments; experience integrating vendor and open-source technologies with in-house systems.

  • You have agentic AI expertise: hands on with multistep planning, tool use, and multiagent orchestration; evaluation frameworks that quantify agent performance and safety in production.

  • You have experience with MLOps & distributed systems: feature stores, model registries, CI/CD for ML, monitoring, drift detection; proficiency with cloud native stacks and data lake/lake house architectures.

  • You have experience partnering with quantitative researchers, portfolio/risk teams, and data governance functions to translate ambiguous business problems into reliable AI systems.

  • You have experience in solving problems in the Financial Services domains, preferably in Investment/Asset Management, and preferably across a wide range of asset classes/instruments.

  • You are an inspirational individual contributor leader: elevate teams by example — clear thinking, high judgment, rigorous science, and craftsmanship—without formal people management.

  • You are visionary & pragmatic: see the long-term architecture (agents, data backbone, governance) while delivering incremental wins and derisked pilots.

  • You are a disruptive problem solver: challenge brittle, bespoke paths; push for reusable data products, governed speed, and production grade AI.

  • You are a collaborative bridge builder : work across IG Capabilities / IG-PAC and EDO/DxP, and forums to align priorities and unlock value quickly.
