Job Summary
We are seeking a highly creative, hands-on and technically strong Sr Principal, R&D Engineer with 10-12 years of experience to lead the development of breakthrough concepts and emerging technologies for future minimally invasive therapies.

This role focuses on transforming ideas into viable product concepts and driving rapid learning cycles through prototyping, testing and multidisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will thrive in highly ambiguous environments and play a key role in shaping future product pipelines.

How you will make an impact: 

  • Lead early-stage innovation activities, including concept generation, ideation, and feasibility assessment.
  • Develop and mature novel device concepts for minimally invasive therapies, including implants, delivery system and enabling technologies.
  • Design, build and test proof-of-concept prototypes, enabling rapid iteration and technical risk reduction.
  • Translate clinical needs into engineering solutions, integrating procedural and anatomical considerations into early designs.
  • Develop testing tools, benchtop models, and simulation platforms that replicate relevant anatomical and physiological conditions to evaluate device performance and procedural feasibility.
  • Plan and execute feasibility studies, bench testing, and design evaluations to validate technical concepts including pre-clinical studies.
  • Analyze test results, perform root-cause investigations, and drive design improvements based on engineering findings and clinical feedback
  • Drive design iterations based on testing results, failure analysis, and clinical feedback
  • Manage interfaces with global R&D teams, external partners, consultants and suppliers
  • Document technical findings, experimental results and engineering recommendations in a clear and structured manner.

What you’ll need: 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 10-12 years of experience in product development, preferably in early-stage or innovation-driven environments
  • Medical devices industry experience – strong advantage
  • Proven track record of concept development, innovation, and rapid prototyping
  • Strong hands-on engineering skills with ability to work in dynamic environment
  • Experience in design and development of implantable devices, minimally invasive technologies, and micro-mechanisms from concept and theory to detailed design – strong advantage
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD tools.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes such as extrusion, machining, laser cutting and 3D printing
  • Knowledge in engineering simulations and FEA - advantage
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional and global environments
  • Fast learner with strong curiosity, creativity, and a passion for innovation
  • Multidisciplinary mindset (mechanics, systems, clinical understanding)
  • English – Full proficiency
