As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will support our organization’s growth and success by providing accurate and comprehensive pricing and cost estimates for various proposals, projects, and contracts. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, motivated individual who enjoys crunching numbers and has relevant experience supporting the federal government. This is a fast-paced position requiring attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and thrive in a deadline-driven environment. You must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, to complete projects and see a proposal through to completion under sometimes tight deadlines. This will be a remote position with office attendance on an as-needed basis. This position will report directly to the Director of Pricing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all stages of the pricing proposal process, including RFP analysis, formulating questions, conducting market research, interfacing with internal and external team members, initiating and leading pricing reviews, and preparing the final cost volume, including cost files and narrative requirements.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting Customer RFPs for cost/price volume requirements and ensuring the final products are accurate and compliant with all instructions.
- Preparing proposal documents by providing accurate cost estimates and relevant financial data, enhancing the bid’s quality and competitiveness.
- Building cost and estimating models of varying complexity for multiple subsidiaries which provide appropriate levels of comparative, competitive, discount, and profit analysis.
- Developing pricing strategies, preparing cost/price analysis, and performing competitive price analyses for proposals of increasing size, value, and complexity.
- Working together with cross-functional proposal teams to ensure the pricing solution includes all attributable cost elements.
- Gathering necessary data from relevant stakeholders to create accurate estimates and providing thorough and detailed cost analysis for a variety of projects, bids, and contract proposals.
- Conducting appropriate market research to ensure and justify fair and reasonable pricing.
- Leveraging open-source data and public information to research and build market and potential partner/competitor profiles.
- Creating and responding to partner and subcontractor data calls and general information requests.
- Presenting pricing strategy to leadership and preparing reports and presentations for management and external stakeholders as needed.
- Ensuring cost volume accuracy, including a complete basis of estimate. preparing internal documents for peer review, and pricing management reviews, creating final submission files, and maintaining auditable pricing files and proposal artifacts.
- Identifying potential risks and uncertainties that project costs and working closely with project teams to develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies.
- Participating in daily interactions with cross-functional capture teams (BD, Program Control, Contracts, HR) and Project Services.
- Communicating pricing requirements, collecting basis of estimate data, presenting proposal status, and reviewing pricing iterations.
- Staying current with relevant government regulations, contracting requirements, and accounting principles to ensure company cost estimation practices are fully compliant.
- After contract award, monitoring and reviewing contract performance to identify any pricing discrepancies or financial risks.
- Providing guidance and support to project teams regarding pricing strategies, contract terms, and pricing adjustments.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a pricing role with a federal government contractor
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and other advanced functions.
- Enthusiastic team player who collaborates well across departments, working towards common goals.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost estimates and financial forecasts.
- Familiar with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and applicable supplements (e.g., DFARS). Experience with sole source and competitive efforts, as well as Multiple Award Schedules and contracting by negotiation.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights to support decision-making.
- Experience with facilitating and leading kick-off, status, and review meetings.
- Work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
- Utilize knowledge of data, research, and trends to develop and succinctly recommend pricing strategies that drive revenue and profit.
- Ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst - CCEA) are advantageous.
