Position Summary

 Precision for Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, and scale enterprise business operations analytics across Project Management, Sample Management, Laboratory Operations, Data Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams.

This role will serve as a strategic analytics partner within Business Operations, responsible for transforming operational and financial data into actionable insights that drive performance, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Operations, Project Management, Sample Management, Finance, IT, and Data Engineering teams to develop enterprise dashboards, KPI frameworks, and standardized reporting solutions.

This position focuses on semantic modeling, KPI governance, business intelligence architecture, and operational analytics—not source system development or ad hoc report creation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Requirements Gathering

  • Translate complex business processes into scalable analytical models and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for KPI definitions, business rules, calculations, and reporting governance.
  • Identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and process improvement opportunities through advanced analytics.

Power BI & Semantic Modeling

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, including DAX measures, KPIs, hierarchies, and table relationships
  • Build reusable, governed DAX measures aligned to approved KPI definitions
  • Implement calculation groups, time intelligence, and standardized metric logic
  • Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and refresh efficiency
  • Ensure all metrics reflect correct business logic, including enrollment rules, milestone definitions, revenue calculations, and project financial structures

Governance & Collaboration

  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure analytics-ready data structures and consistent grain, validate dataset readiness, and report on data discrepancies
  • Align with Corporate IT / Data Warehouse teams on data contracts and refresh schedules
  • Validate metrics with Finance, Clinical Operations, and Business Operations stakeholders
  • Document datasets, measures, and assumptions for transparency and reuse
  • Implement and maintain row-level security (RLS), workspace permissions, and dataset access controls
  • Manage versioning, QA testing, and deployment of dashboards across environments
  • Ensure alignment with internal data governance and compliance standards

Enablement & Scale

  • Develop certified datasets to enable self-service analytics across the organization
  • Reduce ad hoc reporting by standardizing core analytics views
  • Contribute to analytics standards and best practices across the business
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to functional teams using Power BI dashboards
  • Promote BI best practices across teams and encourage responsible data consumption

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Professional Certificate
  •  5+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise Power BI solutions.
  •  Strong expertise in:
  • Power BI Service
  • DAX
  • Semantic Modeling
  • Power Query (M)
  • SQL
  • Data Visualization Best Practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within CRO, clinical research, biorepository, laboratory services, or life sciences environments.
  • Experience supporting:
  • Knowledge of ERP, CTMS, LIMS, CRM, and operational workflow systems.
  • Experience building executive-level KPI dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and enterprise data warehouse architectures.
