Senior Power BI Consultant

Your role, your impact

As a Senior Power BI Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the migration of SRRS reports across teams to Power BI Embedded. You’ll leverage your expertise in PowerShell, REST APIs, GitHub CI/CD, Azure Entra ID, C# or Python scripting, and Azure Databricks to support technical migration, automation, deployment, and testing activities. 

Your ability to develop automation scripts, build deployment pipelines, configure data sources and semantic models, and collaborate across technical teams will directly contribute to a smooth transition from SRRS to Power BI, ensuring deployment reliability, system integrity, and successful migration outcomes. 

Your day-to-day

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts leveraging REST APIs for Microsoft Fabric and Azure Entra ID authentication; 

• Build, maintain, and manage GitHub CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment and testing of Power BI assets; 

• Develop basic C# or Python scripts to support automated refresh jobs and data source integrations; 

• Configure and support data sources, semantic models, and connections between Power BI, Azure Databricks, and other enterprise platforms;

• Execute deployment activities across Power BI environments and validate migrated assets; 

• Perform technical testing to ensure migrated reports, data sources, semantic models, and refresh processes function as expected; 

• Troubleshoot deployment, authentication, connectivity, refresh, and integration issues during migration activities; 

• Support automation of Power BI deployment and testing processes through scripting and CI/CD pipelines; 

• Collaborate with technical teams across the organization to coordinate migration activities, resolve dependencies, and support the transition of SRRS reports to Power BI Embedded while maintaining system integrity and deployment standards;

• Document technical configurations, deployment processes, scripts, and migration activities. 

Keys to your success

• Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and automation, and GitHub CI/CD pipelines for deployment and testing;

• Experience working with REST APIs, including authentication and integration with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Entra ID; 

• Working knowledge of C# or Python for developing basic automation and data refresh scripts; 

• Experience working with Azure Databricks, connecting enterprise data sources to analytics platforms, and supporting Power BI deployment and migration activities in enterprise environments;

• Strong technical understanding of Power BI architecture, deployment, semantic models, data source configuration, CI/CD principles, automated deployment, testing, and release management;

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across authentication, connectivity, deployment, and integration issues; 

• Ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams, coordinate migration dependencies, and collaborate with distributed technical teams;

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on deployment quality, system integrity, and technical documentation.

Extra edge

• Experience with Power BI Embedded, Power BI REST APIs, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Entra ID;

• Experience migrating reports or analytics assets from legacy reporting platforms to Power BI and supporting enterprise-scale reporting or analytics migration initiatives;

• Experience automating Power BI deployments using GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD technologies, as well as Azure Databricks integrations and automated refresh workflows.
