Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Management Analyst to join our team in Sydney, Australia. In this role you will be part of a broader team of analysts and will report to the Commercial Operations Manager. You will be accountable for the administration and analysis of premiums and reinsurance, be involved in month end finance related tasks, and have exposure to streamline and automate existing processes and procedures.
In this role you will:
- Analyse premiums to ensure that validity of the premium received and review against the underlying terms and conditions, investigate and resolve variances and queries by liaising with the clients and client managers.
- Calculate reinsurance premiums and prepare relevant reports in line with reinsurance arrangements for each client.
- Update administration systems and files as required ensuring data integrity is maintained throughout.
- Prepare month-end journals, reports, and reconciliations relating to Group Life and Retirement and work with the Finance team on queries.
- Calculate monthly stamp duty liabilities for Group Life and Retirement and provide stamp duty related data and information for tender and rerate as required.
- Prepare annual and bi-annual regulatory reporting.
- Assist in audit processes by providing information and data as requested.
- Develop and document the reporting models and processes.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and prepare ad-hoc reports as required.
- Provide timely and accurate data and insights to help the Commercial Operations Manager with informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Actuarial or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the financial services industry, preferably life insurance
- Demonstrable experience in delivering quality outcomes on multiple tasks
- Solid foundation and technical knowledge of Excel
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
