The role

We’re looking for a highly capable Senior PMO to join our Change & Transformation Office at an exciting stage of growth and evolution.

This Senior PMO will play a key role within the team, supporting the governance, oversight and successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of business change initiatives.

Working closely with the Head of Change & Transformation, Change & Transformation Office and Project Managers across the organisation, you'll provide portfolio-level insight, challenge and support to ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed governance standards, priorities and strategic objectives. You'll monitor project performance, manage reporting, identify and escalate risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, and provide meaningful analysis that supports effective and timely decision-making.

This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Change & Transformation Office, helping to improve processes, strengthen governance frameworks and enhance the effectiveness of project delivery across the organisation. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

The Person

You will be an experienced PMO professional with a proven track record operating within complex, multi-project environments. Comfortable managing competing priorities and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders across all levels, you thrive in fast-paced organisations where adaptability, judgement, and a proactive mindset are essential.

You’ll bring a minimum of five years’ experience within PMO in Change, and / or Transformation functions, with strong exposure to project, programme and portfolio governance, reporting, raids management, project controls and assurance.

Experience within financial services, pensions, or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous, but we are open to candidates from a variety of sectors who can demonstrate transferable experience in complex change environments.

A confident communicator, you will be skilled in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You are comfortable providing challenge where required, building credibility quickly, and translating complex information into meaningful insights that support effective decision-making.

Strong analytical capability is essential. You will be confident interpreting project data, identifying trends, highlighting risks, and making practical recommendations that improve portfolio performance. Equally, you’ll bring excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality governance standards across multiple concurrent initiatives.

To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience within PMO.

  • Strong project governance expertise across multiple workstreams or projects within a portfolio.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge senior leaders.

  • Experience of risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and resource management.

  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear, insightful management information.

  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.

  • Experience working with project and portfolio management tools, with exposure to Project for the Web considered advantageous.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and minute-taking skills.

  • A collaborative approach and the ability to coach, mentor, and support less experienced colleagues.

  • The resilience and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic transformation environment.

Professional project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent are highly desirable, although practical experience and demonstrable capability will be considered equally important.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned PMO professional who enjoys operating across project, programme and portfolio levels, influencing senior stakeholders, and helping organisations deliver meaningful and sustainable change.
