Administer pension transfer cases from start to finish, supporting members by phone, email, and written correspondence. Explain processes clearly, request and review required information, maintain accurate records, manage deadlines and worklists, and escalate issues when needed. The role requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail, customer service, and confidence using IT systems. Pension administration experience is desirable but not essential.

Leads the design, development, deployment, and governance of enterprise AI solutions. Identifies high-value AI opportunities, builds scalable production applications, evaluates emerging technologies, establishes engineering standards, and supports responsible AI adoption. Partners with architects, engineers, product teams, and senior stakeholders while translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Also mentors engineers and helps establish Railpen’s AI capability, governance, and best practices.

Supports public-markets investment research, portfolio construction, monitoring, and continuous improvement across multi-asset, systematic, and fundamental equity portfolios. Develops quantitative models, analytical tools, datasets, dashboards, and reporting using Python and financial data. Partners with portfolio managers and cross-functional teams to analyze performance, risk, exposures, and investment opportunities while strengthening research and technology infrastructure.

Develop and deliver corporate finance applications, provide timely BAU support, analyze support trends, investigate issues, and recommend innovative solutions. The role involves bespoke software development, collaboration across teams, process improvement, and producing fit-for-purpose applications. Experience with C#, ASP.NET, and SQL is expected; Blazor WebAssembly, PowerShell, Azure infrastructure, and Power BI are advantageous.

Supports the Enterprise Risk Team’s governance framework and partners with business risk owners to oversee, challenge, and improve risk management practices. The role covers strategic, governance, operational, regulatory, legal, and conduct risks, with responsibilities for stakeholder engagement, risk identification, assessment, management, reporting, and embedding a strong risk culture based on the Three Lines of Defence model.

Provide pension members with accurate, compassionate support across multiple telephone service lines. Responsibilities include answering enquiries, updating member records, completing related administration, following established processes, escalating complex cases, and collaborating with colleagues to maintain service levels. The role requires adaptability, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to learn systems and pension information quickly. This is a 12-month fixed-term hybrid position in Darlington.
