The Role

Capita Pensions Solutions is a division of Capita that specializes in providing a wide range of services related to pensions. We focus on creating and implementing resilient and responsible pension strategies to help organizations and their employees secure a more stable financial future. Our services include pensions administration, consultancy, and the latest technology and engagement techniques. Capita Pensions Solutions has been managing pensions for over 50 years, covering pension schemes of various shapes and sizes.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior PMO Manager to establish and manage a PMO function to support a specific complex or parallel Programme to a specific Business Sector - including providing guidance on templates, ways of working aligned to Capita standards. Lead on the integrity of coherence of the programme / projects throughout its lifecycle.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Programme & Project Management – Provides support on the understanding of all industry best practice and methodologies evidenced by external accreditation. Applies industry best practices and methodologies to meet desired outcomes using processes, tools and techniques required to initiate and successfully deliver across large / very large, complex standard and major projects and programmes.
  • Governance - Involved in implementing controlled gates and governance frameworks for projects and programmes and can use techniques and tools for assessing the effectiveness of the current governance model and processes.
  • Planning & Scheduling - Creates plans at the project, programme and portfolio level for complex, standard and major projects and programmes and portfolios that enable effective monitoring and control.
  • Resource Management - Involves in identifying and assigning resources from a pool; supports business decisions by assessing supply and demand, availability, utilisation and capacity to meet current and future demand.
  • Risk & Issue Management - Can plan, lead and manage the implementation of risk and issue management processes, tools and techniques across programme / portfolio including establishing the right Governance, reporting, responsibilities / accountabilities and escalation.
  • Budget / Benefits Management - Can optimise the cost of a major programme by changing priorities of inter-related projects and can manage supplier relationships and manage contract variances promptly to resolve any commercial problems; applies appropriate Governance, reporting and escalation to drive the right outcomes for the business.
  • Change Control - Oversees impact assessments for complex requests for change; measures and monitors adherence to standards and makes recommendations and applies mitigation.
  • Data Analysis / Business Intelligence - Can independently process and analyse data using computer systems, tools and applications.
  • P30 Delivery Support and Management - Deliver, tailors, designs, installs and leads P3O services and teams to provide delivery support across projects, programmes and portfolios.
  • Delivery Assurance - Leads assurance teams undertaking project / programme / portfolio assurance activities. Designs, maintains, communicates and implements the assurance frameworks / standards / processes based on industry best practice, to be used across the business unit / organisation.

  • Significant experience in project management and leadership roles
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Proven experience in implementing and improving PMO processes and procedures
  • The ability to secure BPSS and SC
