The Role
About Us
SharkNinja is a global product design and technology company, with a diversified portfolio of 5-star rated lifestyle solutions that positively impact people's lives in homes around the world. Powered by two trusted, global brands, Shark and Ninja, the company has a proven track record of bringing disruptive innovation to market and developing one consumer product after another has allowed SharkNinja to enter multiple product categories, driving significant growth and market share gains. Headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts with more than 4,100 associates, the company's products are sold at key retailers, online and offline, and through distributors around the world.
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Senior Quality Engineer to join the Product Quality Team. In this high-impact role, you will champion consumer safety, device performance, and regulatory-aligned quality across the entire product lifecycle, ensuring skincare devices consistently deliver safe, effective, and high-performance experiences.
You will partner closely with R&D, Human Factors, Clinical/Scientific Affairs, Industrial Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to influence device design and quality strategy from concept through post-launch. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape product quality at scale, contribute to executive-level decision-making, and drive innovation that meaningfully improves consumer outcomes.
What You'll Do
Customer-Centric Quality Leadership
  • Analyze consumer complaints, device returns, clinical data, and post-market surveillance insights to identify root causes and drive corrective actions across both technical performance and user experience
  • Act as the voice of the consumer and patient in quality and product forums, ensuring safety, usability, and clinical insights translate into tangible product improvements
  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives to resolve complex quality and performance issues

Product Development & Design Quality
  • Serve as the New Product Development (NPD) Quality Lead for device programs, guiding design controls, risk management, human factors, and quality documentation from early concept through validation and launch
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring robust verification and validation while protecting device safety, performance, and claims
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define, measure, and validate critical-to-quality (CTQ) attributes, including skin compatibility, safety, efficacy, reliability, and durability
  • Ensure biocompatibility, labeling, and claims substantiation are fully integrated into the product development lifecycle

Process, Supplier & Manufacturing Quality
  • Collaborate with suppliers to investigate root causes and drive timely, compliant closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), particularly for contact materials, energy-based components, and precision hardware
  • Influence manufacturing readiness by identifying device-specific failure modes and recommending risk-mitigation controls
  • Support production transfer activities to ensure alignment between design intent, process capability, and quality requirements

Post-Launch & Lifecycle Quality Management
  • Monitor product performance trends, consumer sentiment, and post-market data to identify early warning signals for skincare-specific risks
  • Drive continuous improvements to device hardware and user experience post-launch in collaboration with Engineering, Design, and Quality partners
  • Own product health dashboards and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leadership focused on safety, reliability, and real-world performance

Cross-Functional Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Facilitate cross-functional quality forums, ensuring accountability and timely issue resolution across teams
  • Identify and implement efficiencies within design control, documentation, risk management, and testing workflows
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers or quality team members to strengthen technical rigor, compliance mindset, and problem-solving capability
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Development, Human Factors Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4-7 years of experience in quality engineering, with a strong emphasis on new product development
  • Hands-on experience with design controls, risk management, and verification/validation in a regulated or semi-regulated device environment

Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of device product development lifecycles, risk management, design controls, and V&V practices
  • Proficiency with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree), FMEA, and statistical analysis methods
  • Experience with change management, CAPA processes, manufacturing quality, and engineering documentation
  • Working knowledge of standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IEC/UL safety standards, ISO 14971, and human factors guidelines is highly preferred

Tools & Ways of Working
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with PLM systems, quality systems, and eQMS tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and follow-through in driving complex, cross-functional programs to completion
