Our customer is seeking a Senior Platforms Engineer to provide advanced VMware platform management and engineering. This role supports virtualization, system optimization, and scalability across enterprise environments. This is a hybrid position supporting a DoD customer in Charleston, SC.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across VMware ESXi hosts.
Administer VMware vCenter, vRealize Operations (vROps), and vRealize Automation.
Perform VM lifecycle management, hardware upgrades, and firmware updates.
Track compute capacity and recommend resource optimization strategies.
Support installation and configuration of new data center infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain uptime and efficiency.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in platform engineering or systems administration.
3+ years of Federal or DoD IT experience.
Strong expertise with VMware vCenter, ESXi (6.7/7), and vRealize Suite.
Experience in compute capacity planning, performance tuning, and data center operations.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, and DoD system security requirements.
Clearance:
Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)
