We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineering Leader to help shape and scale the developer tooling ecosystem used across a global organization.
This role suits someone with strong technical judgment, a passion for developer experience, and the drive to modernize CI/CD and development platforms across self-hosted and SaaS environments.
You will lead work across Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related SDLC platforms, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, secure, and effective for engineers at enterprise scale. You'll partner with infrastructure, security, and application development teams to reduce complexity, improve platforms, and help developers get more from their tools.
We're especially interested in someone enthusiastic about AI use cases across the SDLC, including engineering productivity, automation, and infrastructure management, with the ability to understand developer pain points and turn ambiguous or fast-changing situations into practical progress.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.
Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.
What you'll do in the role:
Lead the strategy, design, and evolution of enterprise developer tooling and CI/CD platforms across a global environment
Improve the reliability, scale, usability, and operational maturity of systems spanning self-hosted and SaaS tooling
Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to identify friction, set direction, and deliver platform improvements that matter
Drive adoption of modern automation and AI-enabled workflows across software delivery and platform operations
Bring clarity and momentum in ambiguous environments where priorities, requirements, and technologies continue to evolve
Influence standards, patterns, and engineering practices that improve developer productivity at scale
What you’ll bring to the role:
Significant experience building, operating, or evolving large-scale developer platforms, CI/CD systems, or infrastructure services
Hands-on Java experience, particularly in the context of Jenkins plugin development or extending CI/CD tooling
Strong Python experience for infrastructure management, automation, or orchestration in complex engineering environments
Strong technical depth paired with sound judgment and a practical, delivery-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences
Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted software delivery and the future of tooling across the SDLC
A natural inclination to lead, simplify, and move initiatives forward even when the path is not fully defined
A strong sense of ownership and a clear focus on helping developers succeed
