Senior Platform Engineer

Role

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to architect, build, and operate a development platform that other teams will use to build products and services. The ideal candidate is a skilled programmer that knows how to build reusable and scalable system capabilities with Kuberntes and AWS. 

This role is fully remote within the US.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive out the design and capabilities of the SmarterDx development platform.
• Build, deploy, maintain, and monitor common AWS infrastructure with Terraform. 
• Build capabilities using Kubernetes custom controllers in Go and deploy common libraries in Python and Typescript to utilize common data, observability, and monitoring systems.
• Ensure the security of our clients’ data by building secure patterns into the fabric of the system in close collaboration with Security Engineering. 
• Support the SmarterDx platform in production, applying an SRE mindset and toolkit.
• Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team.

Your qualities

• 8-12+ years of development experience, with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions.
• 3+ years of hands-on production work with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, and alerting.
• 2+ years in a security-conscious environment.
• Experience with Go and Python, especially if using Kubernetes APIs.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools like AirFlow and dbt.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouses.
• Prior experience in the healthcare sector.

Compensation

• $180K to $220K base salary + equity
