Senior Platform Engineer (ECS)

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Platform Engineer who specializes in ECS (AWS) to join our Platform Engineering team. You will help build and maintain IntelyCare’s AWS cloud infrastructure; your contributions will be visible and make a difference to the greater Engineering team, our SaaS product, and most importantly to our customers. This challenging position requires a person who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize IntelyCare’s ECS infrastructure, including task definitions, services, and scaling policies
- Design and deploy ECS clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of containerized applications
- Champion DevOps best practices, including improving availability, scalability and ensure successful execution of product roadmap that aligns with our platform
- Use CI/CD best practices to create and implement an improved CI/CD strategy and release pipeline
- Implement a robust logging/monitoring/alerting solution using industry best practices
- Build and maintain reliable infrastructure in AWS
- Work on containerizing and auto-scaling infrastructure components
- Participate in daily scrum and planning as part of our agile practices
- Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of ECS clusters. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to container orchestration
- Work closely with development, automation, and security teams to integrate ECS solutions seamlessly into the overall infrastructure
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ECS architecture, processes, and best practices
Qualifications
- Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience preferred in one of the following fields: Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems
- 3+ years of experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS ECS
- 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud or Platform Engineering
- Professional experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Data Pipeline, etc.)
- Familiar with implementation logging, monitoring, configuration and alerting strategies using tools such as Cloudwatch, the ELK stack, Prometheus, Icinga, or Splunk
- Very comfortable scripting in Bash or Python
- Confidence building dashboards with tools such as Grafana and providing operation metrics (such as Accelerate metrics)
- Expertise with Git as a version control system and trunk-based development
- Expertise with IaaS tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform
- Expertise with common DevOps methodologies

- Constantly reach to use computers, monitors, and other office equipment
- Constantly need to view objects at close and distant ranges.
- Constantly communicate with others verbally and in writing
- Frequently required to sit or stand.
- This position functions in an office and technical environment and requires fine manipulation and simple grasping to utilize the computer and other standard office equipment.
- Required occasional lifting and transporting of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- This position may require occasional travel.
