Step into a role where planning is at the heart of everything we do. As our Senior Planner in our Contracting Division, you’ll work side‑by‑side with the Contract Manager, taking ownership of the day‑to‑day planning and scheduling that keeps our projects on track, profitable, and compliant.

You’ll be the person who turns strategy into reality, developing programmes, working closely with key stakeholders, and ensuring accurate data flows into our business systems. Your work will directly influence project outcomes, safety performance, and client satisfaction. You’ll also play a key leadership role by modelling our values, championing Health & Safety, and supporting a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement. You are not a number here – your expertise is critical to our success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling contracting works and specific projects

  • Preparing monthly packs for field crews and keeping them informed

  • Tracking maintenance and faults and updating relevant team members

  • Implementing change management processes in the planning/programming function

  • Reporting on team and delivery performance for monthly reports

  • Working with the Regional Contracting Lead and Contract Manager to plan the year ahead

  • Managing asset information and third-party requests

  • Maintaining and updating systems (Primavera P6, MS Project, CCS, and internal tools)

  • Supporting special projects, tender preparation and producing business documents

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Planner

  • Experience/knowledge in civil contracting

  • Advanced skills in Primavera P6, and basic skills in Microsoft Project and CCS Planning

  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

  • Full Class 1 driver licence

  • Working knowledge of current legislation

  • Understanding of engineering principles and good NZ civil practice

  • Experience with project management principles
