About the Role:
Join our team as a Senior Planning Engineer and lead the planning and scheduling of airport construction projects. You'll manage project plans, coordinate with teams, and ensure timelines are met for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibility:
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project plans and schedules using software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Ensure that the project schedule aligns with the project objectives and is achievable within the given timeframe.
- Allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, in coordination with other departments and stakeholders.
- Ensure that resources are utilized efficiently to meet project milestones.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that could impact the project schedule.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
- Regularly monitor project progress against the established schedule.
- Identify delays or deviations and work with project teams to implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
- Collaborate with the cost control team to integrate project cost estimates and budgets into the project schedule.
- Monitor and report on cost performance in relation to the schedule.
- Prepare and distribute project progress reports, including schedule updates, to stakeholders such as project managers, clients, and senior management.
- Ensure effective communication of project status and issues.
- Assess the impact of changes or variations in the project scope on the schedule and make necessary adjustments.
- Evaluate change requests and provide recommendations.
- Ensure that planning and scheduling processes adhere to industry best practices and quality standards. Conduct audits and reviews to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with various project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to integrate their schedules and activities into the master project schedule.
- Mentor and train junior planning engineers within the team.
- Share knowledge and best practices to enhance the team's capabilities.
- Ensure that project activities are following contractual obligations and regulatory requirements related to scheduling and planning.
- Maintain accurate records of project schedules, reports, and related documentation.
- Ensure easy access to historical scheduling data for analysis and reference.
- Continuously collect and analyze data to identify lessons learned from past projects.
- Apply these lessons to improve the planning and scheduling process.
- Stay updated on the latest project management software and tools to optimize scheduling and planning processes.
- Ensure that project schedules account for safety and environmental considerations, and work with relevant stakeholders to address any issues.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience is required.
- A Planning Engineer in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in airport development or related industries.
