About the Role

As a Senior Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability and operational priorities. Using Oracle MRP, you'll convert customer orders into executable production plans while ensuring work progresses efficiently through assembly and machining operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, manufacturing capacity and material availability.  
  • Convert customer orders into production work orders using Oracle MRP/ERP.  
  • Coordinate and monitor the flow of work through assembly and machining operations to ensure production schedules are achieved.  
  • Proactively identify and resolve scheduling challenges that could impact manufacturing performance or customer deliveries.  
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to align priorities and maintain efficient production flow.  
  • Monitor manufacturing capacity and recommend actions to address potential bottlenecks or resource constraints.  
  • Maintain accurate planning data and update production schedules to reflect changing business priorities.  
  • Support On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance by ensuring production plans remain realistic and achievable.  
  • Prepare production reports and communicate schedule status, risks and priorities to key stakeholders.  
  • Support new product introductions and planning activities associated with manufacturing readiness.  
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning efficiency, lead time reduction and operational performance.  
  • Ensure planning activities are completed in accordance with company quality, health, safety and operational procedures.  
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.  
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems used for production planning and scheduling.  
  • Experience coordinating production activities across multiple stakeholders and functions.  
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly assembly and machining operations.  

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and make informed planning decisions.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.  

Professional Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales.  
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem solving.  
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.  
  • Adaptable and willing to continuously learn new systems, technologies and processes.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the oil and gas, energy or heavy engineering sector.  
  • Knowledge of Wellhead or Pressure Control Equipment manufacturing.  
  • Experience using Oracle ERP.  
  • Professional certification such as APICS CPIM or CIPS.  
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
