Vast is looking for a Senior People Business Partner, reporting to the Senior Manager, People Business Partners, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. 

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the key HR leader supporting various teams across multiple locations
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure employee and business needs are met, focusing on organizational design, change leadership, and talent management
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes as required to grow the business
  • Influence business and talent initiatives that support our short and long-term business goals, including driving practices that enable high performance and operational excellenc
  • Provide counsel and guidance on complex employee matters
  • Strong knowledge of wage & hour laws
  • Act as an executive coach for key clients and leaders; hold a high bar for leadership values and behaviors
  • Influence and/or deploy practices to increase employee engagement and satisfaction

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years experience in an HR Business Partner role
  • Ability to coach leaders on personal and team development
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities
  • Experience designing and deploying HR systems and processes
  • Experience with core HR domains, including performance management, organizational design, talent management, compensation, and employee relations
  • Experience influencing and advising executive leadership on talent and employment matters
  • Experience with people data analytics; ability to influence with data

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • HR experience in a tech start-up or high growth company
  • Background supporting Manufacturing groups with large hourly work force
  • Aerospace background is a plus but not required

Additional Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to Mojave (1-2x/quarter) and Hawthorne (up to 1x/week)

Pay Range:

  • Senior People Business Partner: $114,000 - $162,000
  • Staff People Business Partner: $128,000-182,000

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
