Job Description:
Senior PCB/CAD Layout Engineer to drive and deliver PCB layouts for all types of electrical boards, including flexible circuit boards and rigid boards. You will prepare layout, detailed drawings, and schematics using computer assisted engineering design software and Cadence Allegro tools while defining efficient design guidelines, specifications, and best-known design methods.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-density designs that directly influence NPO and Intel's strategic objectives. You will collaborate across engineering domains, including electrical design, packaging, manufacturing, thermal, and mechanical teams to drive impactful results. Your expertise will ensure high-quality PCB designs from feasibility studies to board tape-out, meeting multi-disciplinary platform-level requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
PCB Layout Engineering/Expert:
Design and implementation of PCB layouts for all board types including rigid and flexible circuits
CAD tools and utilities management and optimization
DFx/TO package generation and documentation
PCB/PB issue resolution and troubleshooting
Part Library Management:
Schematic and layout component creation and maintenance
New component review documentation creation and approval processes
Library and component issue resolution and quality assurance
Contractor Management:
Quote and PO creation and management for external PCB design resources
Contractor workload distribution and capacity planning
Contractor issue resolution and performance management
License Management:
Plan and manage NPO software license needs and requirements
License issue resolution and optimization
Additional Technical Responsibilities:
Apply knowledge of high density-high speed, mixed, analog, digital, RF designs to deliver end-to-end PCB design flow
Define component placement and trace routing rules for components and circuits
Interface with signal and power integrity teams to achieve high-quality PCB designs
Provide guidance on vendor fabrication capabilities and optimize designs for low cost and high reliability
Manage PCB documentation and final design packages for PCB fabrication

Proficiency in Cadence PCB design tools. Familiarity with other industry standard ECAD tools a plus.
Expertise in high-speed digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal PCB design
Experience with PCB fabrication processes and material selection
Expertise with implementing DFx, regulatory, and quality requirements
Expertise with component library management and symbol creation.
Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and effective communication with diverse stakeholders
