Payroll Operations & Compliance 

  • Direct multi-state, bi-weekly payroll operations for a workforce of 1,000+ employees, effectively managing the nuances of seasonal field staff and corporate teams. 

  • Ensure absolute accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing; maintain strict adherence to evolving federal and state regulations. 

  • Standardize and integrate payroll workflows across the enterprise, particularly following M&A activity to ensure seamless organizational transitions.

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, comprehensive documentation, and a state of perpetual audit readiness.

Compensation & Integration 

  • Administer complex compensation agreements, including intricate commission structures for Account Executives and performance-driven bonus plans. 

  • Facilitate the precise delivery of sign-on bonuses and referral payments, safeguarding the employee experience and organizational trust. 

  • Collaborate with regional HR partners to validate local data integrity for the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding. 

Process Improvement 

  • Optimize HRIS-integrated workflows for maximum efficiency. 

  • Partner with HR leadership to design and implement scalable, accurate processes for variable compensation administration. 

  • Deliver a strategic reporting cadence to the executive team, providing actionable insights into labor costs and overall payroll health. 

  • Advise the HRIS and People Operations teams on system enhancements, implementations, and technical upgrades impacting payroll. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. 

  • 5–7+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience within a complex, multi-state environment; background in construction or seasonal, labor-intensive industries is highly advantageous. 

  • Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Paycom or analogous enterprise-grade HRIS platforms. 

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a strong plus. 

  • A proven track record of managing high-volume, complex commission and bonus structures with precision. 

  • Deep technical knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory reporting. 

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills across Finance, Benefits, and broader business functions. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading payroll integrations or operational initiatives within an M&A environment. 

  • A record of utilizing superior judgment and decisive problem-solving skills to navigate complex operational challenges. 

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is highly preferred.  

Skills Required
