Wilhelmsen Global Business Services (GBS) is looking for a Senior Payroll Consultant

As a Senior Payroll Consultant at Wilhelmsen, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services in a complex, multi-entity environment. You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliation, while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure statutory compliance and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to influence payroll processes, contribute to system and policy enhancements, and act as a trusted advisor within a global organization.

The Payroll Unit, part of GBS HR in Norway, manages monthly payroll for approximately 22 legal entities within the Wilhelmsen Group, processing close to 900 payslips each month. As the team expands, we seek an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant who is collaborative, engaged, and committed to excellence.
What you will be doing:
Administer monthly payroll services, including registration, maintenance, and data updates, utilizing the Unit4 payroll system
Prepare and submit required reports
Conduct reconciliation activities
Perform bimonthly and year-end reconciliation and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Monitor and follow up on leave of absence
Process requests and cases in ServiceNow
Execute ad-hoc tasks as appropriate for the Sr. Payroll Consultant role
Ensure compliance with internal and external statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Represent the Wilhelmsen Group and its customers in alignment with business stakeholders on people-related matters
Uphold compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements pertaining to payroll services
Serve as an ambassador for GBS, supporting the local implementation of GBS initiatives
Participate in regional and local projects aimed at improving payroll policies, processes, and tools
Drive enhancements to local payroll systems, tools, and practices to meet business and regulatory expectations
Who you are:
Minimum of five years’ experience in payroll administration, preferably within a large organization
Bachelor’s degree in business administration
Familiarity with the UNIT4 payroll system is advantages
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and reconciliation
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation
High degree of accuracy and independence
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Strong team orientation and customer focus
Proactive approach to work
Exemplary integrity and ethical standards
Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both Norwegian and English, oral and written
