The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Payroll Business Analyst, Data & Reporting

The Senior Payroll Business Analyst, Data and Reporting, is a hands-on senior payroll team member and data expert and builder who works as part of the larger payroll team using data management methodology to drive best practices.

Payroll data and reports are the single source of truth for payroll operations, HR, Finance, and auditors. This role ensures data flows correctly end-to-end (Finance → HRIS → Timekeeping → Payroll → General Ledger (GL)), builds the reporting and metrics structure the team relies on, shortens incident resolution, and demonstrates payroll value through actionable insights.
What we do
- Own payroll data integrity, end-to-end mapping, reconciliations, and recurring/ ad-hoc reporting for payroll and timekeeping systems
- Design and maintain dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that surface exceptions, trends, and compliance risks
- Act as the payroll data Subject Matter Expert (SME) and first escalation point for data, reporting, and metrics issues
- Define data requirements and validate outcomes for system changes, integrations, and payroll deploys
- Train payroll operations and partners to read, use, and trust payroll data and reports
Primary Responsibilities:
Data Strategy & Governance
- Define and maintain payroll data models, mappings, and lineage from source to GL
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, component code files, and change logs
Reporting & Analytics
- Build dashboards, KPIs, reconciliations, and variance analyses to monitor payroll accuracy and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports for Payroll, HR, Finance, and Audit
Operational Support & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot data and reporting incidents, lead root-cause analysis (RCA), implement fixes, and prevent recurrence
- Own data/reporting-related incident lifecycle
Systems, Testing & Deployments
- Define data requirements for Project work requests (PWRs)/changes, author User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test plans and data scenarios, validate post-deploy data outcomes, and support stabilization
- Configure reporting layers and support integrations (transmit, feeds to GL, timekeeping interfaces)
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Create training materials, run operational training sessions, and mentor payroll specialists to improve data literacy and self-service reporting
Continuous Improvement
- Identify automation opportunities, simplify processes, and standardize reporting to reduce manual work and errors
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics and/or business intelligence
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- 5+ years of experience leading stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Currently hold a Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience with Employee Data Management, HR Operations/Payroll, and/or Workday Human Capital Management (HCM)/Payroll systems
- Deep understanding of payroll processes and end-to-end data flows (Finance → HRIS → Timekeeping → Payroll → GL)
- Hands-on with payroll/timekeeping/HCM systems (Workday, ServiceNow, CloudPay, PeopleSoft, etc.)
- Advanced Excel; strong experience with SQL and with dashboard tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience with integrations, data mapping, and payroll transmit processes
- Strong troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience
- Clear communicator who can explain technical data issues to non-technical stakeholders and create practical documentation and training
- Knowledge of U.S. federal & state labor laws and global payroll experience preferred

Summary pay range: $93,500 - $126,500
