THE ROLE

The Consumer Payments team's mission is to ensure our customers have a seamless and efficient experience checking out at Farfetch. We focus on offering localized payment methods and currencies, delivering flexible payment experiences, and collaborating with top-tier payment providers across markets. As part of the wider Farfetch FinTech organization, this role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the largest players in the payments industry, including Crypto providers and digital wallets, in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Reporting to the Payments Operations Lead, your primary responsibility will be to identify and implement solutions tailored to the payment needs of our consumers and partners. This role demands a combination of strategic thinking, practical problem-solving, and a commercial mindset to enhance and expand our expertise in payment solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Drive payment performance by managing metrics such as acceptance rate, conversion rate, cost, and compliance.
  • Manage Payment provider's service to ensure optimal performance, resolve operational issues, and maintain key metrics like acceptance rates and conversion rates. Monitor service levels and ensure adherence to agreed KPIs and SLA.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Finance, IT Security, Legal, Fraud, and Customer Service) to optimize payment experiences, operations, and cash management processes.
  • Be on top of Payments regulatory compliance topics ensuring that all payment processes comply with international and local regulations (e.g., PSD2, PCI-DSS, EMVCO). 
  • Develop and scale commercial strategies with 20+ payment service providers, contributing to negotiations and strategic partnerships, navigating market changes, particularly in the card scheme (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express), and cost structures.
  • Act as a key influencer within the business, ensuring alignment of cross-departmental inputs, strategy visibility, and impactful decision-making.
  • Support and resolve operational issues and ensure SLA/KPI adherence. 

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 4+ years of relevant experience in e-commerce operations, project management, business analysis, consultancy, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent understanding of payment industry technologies and merchant needs. Good knowledge base about the Payments Ecosystem and regulatory landscapes across different markets and adapt workflows accordingly.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and personal skills; can explain technical topics in simple terms.
  • Someone with solid analytical skills, with experience in utilizing data-driven insights to drive decision-making
  •  A natural organizer, able to break complex challenges into easy-to-manage parts while focusing on all the details.
  • You're a collaborator, comfortable working with different people to achieve the projects at hand.
