Is this the role for you?
Reporting into the CFO and supported by external Legal Counsel, we are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to oversee the lifecycle of commercial contracts, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating and drafting legal terms to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while delivering on our strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the drafting of legal terms, reviewing, negotiation and execution of commercial contracts.
- Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, commercial, procurement, finance, and operations to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Work closely with outsourced legal providers to ensure comprehensive legal support and compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts and related documents within our legal matters platform
- Monitor contract performance and address any issues or disputes that arise.
- Develop and implement best practices for contract management processes.
To be successful in this role:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Legal Services, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a paralegal role or within the legal department of a commercial multinational organisation in Australia
- Experienced with engaging stakeholders, negotiating legal terms and drafting terms into legal agreements
- Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms
- Excellent written, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
