CACI is looking for a talented Senior Paralegal professional to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) Environmental and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). Positions like this are critical and are very involved with high-profile important cases. CACI is looking for people who can work in DOJ Offices in Washington, DC, consistent with ENRD policy. Senior Paralegal duties focus upon litigation support, specifically focused on the Natural Resources Section and 5th Amendment Takings cases. Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of a Project Manager or DOJ Case Attorneys. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; however, often develops these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines. Performs moderately complex legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and, for example, identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence. Contact mostly with other support staff, but contact with attorney, US Experts, and trial staff may be required.
Supporting Discovery efforts including using electronic databases to conduct factual research; retrieving and analyzing materials through data searches; and coding substantive case materials. Preparing table of contents and table of authorities for legal briefs. Assisting in preparing witness depositions. Reviewing and researching citations, footnotes, textual references and other entries for accuracy. Digesting substantive materials or transcripts of testimony. Assisting with case development, including discovery projects, as well as pre-trial and trial. Coordinating various litigation support services required by attorneys assigned to a case.
The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills; basic legal knowledge, such as knowledge of standard legal citations; thorough knowledge of a variety of computer applications, such as word processing, databases, and spreadsheets; and the ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure.
Qualifications:
Required:
Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education and experience may be substituted. Additionally, at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required.
At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems, e.g., Relativity, Acrobat, Excel, JEFS/Box.com, Word, Teams, Power Point, and social media tools.
Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.

eDiscovery certifications.
Prior experience supporting the Federal Government.
Prior experience with motions support, Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, and cite checking/Blue booking.

Pay Range:
This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
